We traveled to the wonderful city of Birmingham, Alabama and visited the Amtrak station for a full tour. This place also is a station for Greyhound buses which makes travel transfers convenient, but also makes this a busy location!

I've been through there a couple of times now. Great station! The bathrooms are super-clean. On the other side of the Greyhound buses is Central Station, which is the main hub for the local bus system, so it's very easy just to pop off the train or bus and get around the city.

The Intermodal complex also serves as a hub point for the MAX, which is the local bus service.

That must be on the New York-New Orleans route, which means we could go direct from Philly to Birmingham. Its architecture also reminds me of Milwaukee’s intermodal station back home. “Oh no, sweetheart.” So southern. The bus liked your train vids!

Yeah the Greyhound with the cameo appearance! Yes this is a stop on the Crescent line between NYC and New Orleans! Remember when Michael Jordan played for the Birmingham Barons? We have 2 more Alabama vlogs to post and then it's on to GA and SC!!

Over one year on, does Greyhound still operate there? Flixbus bought Greyhound routes, buses, etc but NOT the terminals in whole or in part.

Is there parking available at the station for several days? I want to take the train to new Orleans!

Like most Amtrak stations, they have parking but leaving car overnights is always risky no matter the station location. Check to see if there are other options in area just to have options.
