I watched this Movie. It was quite enjoyable especially seeing Michael Jordan’s Mom securing the Great Financial Deal with Nike for her son. Viola Davis is the actor that portrayed his Mom. I have loved her acting in so many different movies. Last year, Viola Davis published a Memoir. I was home from work on a Disability Leave & began reading her book. Very seriously I could not put the book down until I finished it. Viola is truly an amazing person, so very talented and has accomplished so much especially with all she had to overcome during her life.

Viola did an incredible job in that role. I dont know the Jordans or his mother but id imagine she is a very smart women and this role amplifies how exceptional mothers are.

I think she was the VP of a local bank. His entire family is solid as a rock. That was one of my biggest takeaways from the ESPN documentary. Being a screw up was not an option in that household.

I adore Matt Damon, he plays ordinary kinds of people so well. Such as in Stillwater.. Air was a Good movie, well done, very entertaining & great story. It worked out nicely for Michael and his family and for NIKE , didn’t it. A win win that’s for sure!

Thing is, I was in HS at this time, and NIKE was already the coolest shoe brand. You either had the Wimbledons (leather, blue stripe) or the basketball equivalent (leather, red stripe, toe guard) or maybe even waffle trainers. Addidas and Converse were popular, but Nike was THE shoe to have.

Hey let's make a Michael Jordan movie Only it has nothing to do with MJ. Just the creators of his shoes and a cameo from his mom. Tone deaf. Absolutely tone deaf. Who is the target audience for this movie exactly?? What is the point of it? The "great struggle" for likely already privileged entrepreneurs to become richer. This movie likely has no conflict whatsoever and shamelessly piggybacks off the starpower of a man that actually struggled. In the era of representation and less fortunate and less privileged people getting to tell their stories the greenlighting and production of this movie seems really TONE DEAF. I might sound like a Karen or whatever. Maybe i oughta actually see the movie or whatever but man.... This seems so tone deaf to do. Viola Davis's presence and inclusion of her character just screams To-kenism. Something done solely for optics and to look good and inclusive. The point of the movie was to outline a story that hasn’t been told. If you had actually watched the movie you would have found it to be an interesting snapshot of the world in the 80’s. Also it’s not a Michael Jordan movie, it’s a Nike movie…
