this scene is so top tier, they just have the most insane chemistry. it's just the right amount of nervousness, longing, and angst, something that really belly and jeremiah just don't have. i really just see belly/jeremiah as best friends, and conrad being her true soul mate. you can also very much tell the difference how the kisses here show belly being very much in love with conrad, where the kisses with jeremiah you can tell for both of them it's fueled mainly by pure lust

I loved the flashbacks to real time and walking through the house and remembering it. It was really sweet and heartbreaking at the same time, his hesitation but angst with the song was perfection. The interweaving of the past and present have been done super well and the way they brought the name of book two into the season with Laurel. It is perfect. I have having to wait a week for each episode but it has been great so far.

I feel like I understand Conrad simply because the depression and anxiety of losing a parent to cancer and all of the guilt that comes along with wanting to be present and happy for the person you’re with but feeling like you shouldn’t be spending your free time with this person when your parent is dying, is really portrayed accurately and it resonates.

This was such a great scene. With the flashbacks mixed in with real time and with invisible string adding so much meaning to both their relationship in the flashback and how great it was but also them meeting again on not great terms was brilliant. Also the flashback specifically to such a big moment in anyone’s life especially a young woman’s in the same place where they meet again was just chefs kiss. People are wondering why Snow on the beach wasn’t used but I think it would be too on the nose. Invisible string adds another layer to the scene while snow on the beach would basically just be narrating. Plus the perfect level of timid was portrayed by Lola here. So good and so well executed 👏👏
