Please bring this show back!! I played 1st violin in the show. They only had real musicians because they wanted it to be as realistic as possible and so it was! Gael Garcia was a wonderful actor. He went all around the orchestra and shook all of our hands because he treated us as equals. How else were we going to get to play at Union Square and Rikers Island and in an alleyway in NYC.

Wow, that's outstanding! I have a question: What was the Messiaen piece the full orchestra played at Rikers Island? I have looked around for it googling and on IMDB and everything I find does not seem to be quite right. Did it happen to be a full orchestra arrangement of one of his solo piano compositions, or chamber quartet compositions? What I have found on Google tells me it was from the Turangalila symphony, but that just doesn't sound quite like I remember it. Maybe my memory is wrong!!

When any artistic profession requires one to be elite in their ability, mindset and work ethic, there is something more important to be said about what is transmitted to an audience, particularly performance arts (theatre, music, etc.) This important attribute is what Rodrigo, one of the main characters of Mozart in the Jungle, would call “the blood.” It means what you think it means, yes: passion, zeal, emotiveness come to mind, but Mozart in the Jungle makes the effort to define “the blood” beyond words, beyond even action: it introduces it as a requirement for anyone attempting to create art that other humans can feel. This is the first paragraph of an essay I’m working on about this show. I love it so so much guys.

when they had Joshua Bell for the opening of the show, I was so happy and fully expecting the show to show genuine music and attention to detail in the actors playing, I was even under the initial impression that the orchestra in the show was a real orchestra, maybe not a good one, but they could at least play their instruments nonetheless. That was wishful thinking, that attention to detail was very quickly lost within the first few episodes and I lost interest in the show.
