That character was written very well and Atul Sir did full justice to that. Playing such multi layered character is never easy. Just look he hates his father but respects him as an elder and guru, want to defeat his nephew to take back gharana but doesn't want to defeat as he can't hurt her love, lost in the end but appreciated his nephew and in very end comes to his purpose back "ye gharana to main lekr rhunga" Such multi layered and intricate character. 😅

​@kabirxmalhotra It is not stealing... Actually Rathore Gharana is a sub-Gharana to the Bikaner Gharana, which belongs to Digvijay's Nanaji's,.. He is the only one who knew the exact nuances and style of both Gharana and without apology can sing both styles.. It's not considered to be stealing, if what is rightfully only yours...You can see from the expression of Panditji, Devendra, Mohini and Radhe that they were taken by surprise that Digvijay decided to sing Garaj Garaj, which they considered to be special to their Rathore Gharana and he indeed did a great job in that. At one moment, Radhe was surprised during the Jugalbandi by how Digvijay sings it with so ease..., If Radhe has to sing something special to Bikaner Gharana, he would have faltered in it... Digvijay was everything Panditji looked in a son and disciple and he always wanted Radhe to be like him... But, in case of Digvijay and Panditji, the family tensions and Panditji's attitude spoiled their relationship, both as teacher and student and as father and son.. With Radhe. Panditji was more grandfather than teacher , compared to the tome Digvijay, may be because he was aging and started to look week and also Radhe was grandson and not son. Infact, Digvijay's Nanaji, handed over Bikaner Gharana to Panditji to expand the Gharana and carry forward its legacy, as Digvijay was a child at that age... Instead of expanding the Gharana, Panditji left his mother and him and went to Jodhpur and settled down with another woman (Radhe's grandmother), and started a new Gharana.. But, it is actually Bikaner Gharana only .. One can start a Gharana, but not at the cost of destroying the other one that gave the foundation to your voice and music. Panditji is a Jealous and Selfish person who spoiled both Digvijay's and Mohini's and his other two sons life for his own benefit in the name of music and Gharana.... Digvijay is actually the hero in the mask of anti-hero...

Still having goosebumps in 2023. Never has a series touched the fans so much. Respect for all actors. Those expressions are so spot on for Radhe (initially he is nervous when jugalbandi part starts and gains confidence and a bit of stubbornness later) and Digvijay with his overconfidence right from the start and the moment he realizes that he is actually proud of his opponent and nephew!

Whoever loved this composition, please watch Pandit Bhimsen Joshi's Miyan Ki Malhar - 1971 performance. This is a lovely composition, I agree. But it is not the first time such a performance has been rendered in Indian classical music. THis song I'm sure is inspired by those true legends and is probably an ode to them. A request with folded hands for all you music lovers to revisit the work of our legends to better appreciate Indian classical music. You won't find such depth anywhere else in this world.
