Since Ragnar and all them speak English in this scene what I thought would’ve been a better detail is that because we are from their perspective that we only hear English and not their language so since Aethelstan spoke their language what would’ve been better is if he spoke English and Ragnar then ask him how he knows their language so it’s like we are standing alongside them understanding what they are saying but then when we are from a different perspective they then speak Old Norse. Would’ve been a very immersive and nice detail.

Athelstan was easily my least favourite character in all of the tv shows I have watched. I wish they just cut him and showed a historically accurate story of Ragnar Lothebrok, the actual history is far more entertaining and interesting than whatever some deluded unimaginative fool can make up.
