I wish X3 would give you the choice of the short or long bar. That would be a great way to configure what works best for you. Great video as usual. I’m very tempted to get one of these X3 systems.
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
Thanks Stevie. I do legit love this thing. I hear you though on the bar size, I do think the small bar is the sweet spot especially with their smaller footplate, but I can see for bigger dudes like you, the larger bar might be better all around. Also, very solid video on the body blade!
@captainguns9761 Жыл бұрын
My advice would be straight up get the proper x3 system & don’t try with a knock off version otherwise u will not get the full benefit & waste money & then spend on x3 in future. Yes I have done this at my cost
@sydneybird116 Жыл бұрын
@@captainguns9761 You have a point. You can't put 4 inch bands on the alternative bars having hooks as they only go up to 2.5 inches wide. I had to buy two $33/each giant carabiners/tower hooks (for fall arrest) that could accommodate 4 inch bands for use on my bar that has ring attachment ends. $75 bar (DASKING), $66 carabiners, $22 cutting board, $20 hockey pucks, $60 bands = $243. But for me, I really like the short bar for some and longer bar for other exercises so having that option is great for me and only attainable with a three-piece bar or more than one bar. At 5'8" and using 41 inch bands, I mainly use the different bar lengths to take up the band slack and to take pressure off the shoulder.

Thanks for the review. I finally just ordered the long bar with the Black Friday discount. I'm only a couple month into X3 but I too have really embraced the shorter workouts and feel like I'm making progress after previously working with weights for the last year and a half. Even if I just use this for a few of the exercises, I think it will be worth it over time. I bought figure 8 wrist straps for deadlifts since my grip was giving out before failure. With the straps, I had even less room on the normal bar. This will give me the room I need. I also know I'll like this for chest presses.

Hey so i commented before saying you pushed me to buy this. Ive noticed by biceps growing faster than ever before in a few weeks. I have other equipment i use and this is a great addition. However i dont do one set i do 2-3 sets depending on mood.
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
I'm right with you on that! One of if not THE best bicep exercises I've every tried. Also I agree with the sets, but I actually do want to test out the 1 set for fun in the future with some other "minimal" training I have in mind.
@josephshatrowsky Жыл бұрын
@SlidingBenchTrainer would be interested to see if you'd keep your gains on one set. Another benefit of the x3 is that I work out my legs way more often because the barrier to set up is so minimal you can't make excuses. I thunk that's my favorite thing about it. It's so easy.
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
@@josephshatrowsky that is an excellent point. If you got in your head you only have to do one set, it definitely makes it easier to train more frequently.

Been going back and forth between buying the X3 or Harambe. I’m going to order the X3 and I will purchase their longer bar later on. I’ve been working with bands for 5 years now. This X3 system seems to be an upgrade. Harambe looks great as well but I don’t like the sling system either.

As a long time X3 user I was thrilled to switch to Harambe. The 38 inch bands and the standard barbell diameter bar just work better. Plus the way Harambe System manages tension is much better. Stackable bands and spacers works better for me.

I do plan on giving those bars a try at some point.

Did you use the X3 long bar before switching to harambe system?
@YoWassupFreshАй бұрын
@@viviannguyen5850 I wish I had. I've definitely revised my opinion since i wrote this originally. The way the Harambe slings tend to pull towards the center of the bar, hits your wrists when you take a wide grip and it hurts. X3 long bar doesn't have that problem.

i dont own any x3 products, ive been using the clench footplate and bands + the innstar bar. this works fine enough for me but one thing I really wish i had was that open hook design in the x3 bar. im using those triangular carabiners so i have to constantly screw/unscrew them when I change bands out during a workout. do you know of another alternative to those that isnt just wrapping the bands on the bar itself?
@jeffa1961 Жыл бұрын

I ended up buying a pair of triangular quick link carabiners for each band to at least remove the need to remove the band from the clip each time. The 4 inch band needs giant ones used for fall arrest/tower hook @$33 each (Malta Dynamics Fall Protection Carabiner Clip 2.04" Gate Tower Hook) but add 16 inches (8 each) to the length of the band. Yikes. Leaving the screw closure open will bend the link out of shape over time.

Does the X3 bar scratch your Oura Ring? Taller guys with wide shoulders definitely need the longer bar. I cannot get into a back squat position and the front squat definitely pinches like you mentioned. I think Jaquish must be a pretty short guy. I feel when I'm doing the chest press with the short bar it's almost like a close grip bench press. I bought the X3 on sale for 400 bucks and paying another 275 is ridiculous. I too like the X3 system.

Hey Mike, will you be following the good doctor's entire program? I think that includes his Fortagen drink, and lots of meat. Also, do you know what type of doctor he is, and which medical school he graduated from? Just curious, since you mentioned the kool-aid. I think I'm leaning towards Harambe - you can purchase individual pieces, which I definitely prefer. Thanks as always!
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
I am going to do the legit program soon as well as the "1 set" (which would be hard for me) and document it. I know he's not a medical doctor, but got his PhD from an accredited university. What I didn't like about Harambe was the sling system and the wider plate. I also don't think their bars are made in the US.

You'd have to share those thoughts with me, because their customer service (and even John) have gone out of there way to answer questions even before they knew I was making videos on their product. I've got nothing against harambe though. But before I pulled the trigger on x3, it just seemed like I was paying more for a system that required more parts and wasn't made in the USA. I did purchase and review their footplate though.
@Somtric Жыл бұрын
@@hybridresistance Well, the whole "made in the US" matters to nobody, other than people in the US. The guy behind X3 is a huge joke & known scam-artist, I won't get into all of that though. The smaller bar of X3 also will ruin your body if you use it regularly for multiple exercises, your body is not meant to be cramped doing a lot of exercises. Then they made the bigger bar, but only available for those who already owned a X3 "system", which is just so dumb.. Well, I personally sold my X3 and bought the Harambe System. Plate is superior, so is the bar imo... though, the X3 Bar is definitely high quality, no doubt about that. The slings system just feels a lot better to me and destributes the weight/resistance of the bands much better, where the hooks can drag in a certain direction, especially if the band isn't placed properly and/or slides a bit towards the opening of the hook and so forth. Only thing I'd say about the harambe system is, that while the plate/platform is great, I do prefer the Clench platform, as it allows for more attachement-points to use for resistance band workouts, also without the bar/handles. The Harambe handles are also the best handles I've owned to resistance bands, and I have tried both those from clench, I've used just regular cabel machine handles with a carabiner and I've also used the very basic hook-like handles that you can find a lot of places. If you like X3, then you should just keep using it, but I personally think it's not worth spending your money on.. both as a product and as a company. I will also add, that here in scandinavia, the X3 is the more expensive product to get. Then Clench also talked about coming with a resistance band bar, which they teased in their FB group LONG ago now, but nothing new on that.

How does the long bar work with the larger Clench footplate?
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried it yet on my clench footplate, but I'm sure it would work well. The only thing with a longer bar and larger footplate is the extra stretch in the band, which can be good or bad depending on your situation.
