At 2:45 and 6:50 about footplates, especially the X3, band grinding or possible tearing. I have some tips. On the edges of footplates be it metal or wood, if people are concerned about it possibly scrapping their bands, then, I have a solution. Grab a pillow cover, fold it in half from the long length, place it under the footplate. That will give the band enough slip to do a workout 😀 Trust me, it works! No, it won't slide off. Using this method, I no longer feel the band grinding against the X3 footplate. Before this, I tried to use the *Serious Steel* band protector, but that got torn apart, but the pillow cover continues to work without fail. The pillow case, cover, are the Cotton and Polyester mix. Very good when using with the X3 footplate. So basically, the plate on top, folded pillow cover in the middle and the band underneath. Most pillow cases, covers, are long enough to go beyond the footplate edges. *Do not* put the band in-between the folded pillow case! - Plate - Pillow Case - Resistance band Protect your expensive bands 🙂 Pin this comment!

Step is the easy choice for me for versatility because it can also be used as a variable height plyo box for decline deficit pushups, stepups, box or split squats, and simply as a place to sit.

I for one am extremely excited for the Vector Athletics base pad, that’s going to make chest press exercises so much more enjoyable and it can be used for multiple other exercises as well, I preordered it and can’t wait for it to arrive. Love your channel and your knowledge, keep up the awesome work! 💪🏻🇺🇸

I have the Vector Athletics, Clench & Squat Harness plates. I use all three as I keep the Clench at my girlfriend’s so I don’t have to drag a plate back and forth. I think the Vector is the most versatile. I did wind up snapping a band on the square harness doing deadlifts with the Geku bar so the length while great for taking out slack during squats may be a deterrent on other exercises.
@FM-gv7sbАй бұрын
Try some tape (or even a towel) on the edge of the Geku and others. The tape should make it smoother. Look for a tape that is slick. I was thinking about buying the Vector, but I think I will pass. I'll just keep using my X3. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Vector, I just like everything to match up width (with the X3 bar) wide etc. Before I got my X3, I simply tied my band to a spare barbell and stood on top of the barbell. It worked,

This was very comprehensive and informative. I remember that video you made where you attached an IsoMax strap to the Clench board, which highlighted how versatile that board is. Also, it shows how creative your mind is, as with all the alternative ideas you've demonstrated with the Total Gym. Keep up the great work! p.s. I really have to wonder how successful that Porsche foot board from Harambe will be. No way would I shell out that much for just one single part of a resistance bands workout solution.

If you only use resistance bands for training and want the absolute best it’s not a huge pill to swallow in the grand scheme of gym equipment. I can understand the hesitation if someone isn’t totally invested in this type of training. I’m 100% only using resistance bands and I’m still hesitant to purchase but think I will eventually get one. Just not ready yet to jump on one.

After previously using The Stepr, various wooden footplates from Etsy, a homemade plate made from a plastic cutting board, and finally Harambe plates (travel and normal size), I should’ve went with Harambe in the beginning. The Cyber Plate is expensive, but I picked one up since it came with a free T Plate. Looking forward to using that in 2025, but the current plates are also excellent. I’m 5’6” so stacking them makes that tension even better.

Built my own "mac" board with a 2x12 and some screws. I own all the power tools and used a sander to round over the edges to make it nice and smooth. Cost me about $14 total plus my time. That being said, if the GEKU board was around back then, i probably would have just bought that. I'm ok spending $100 on a foot plate, but no way I'd spend $300 on one.

Have you tried a... plastic pallet or half plastic pallet with some basic ankle straps? Sounds weird but seriously is awesome, you get multiple anchor points and you just know it's going to hold up because is meant for a beating, but off course you need the ankle anchors because a pallet is too rough by itself for a band.

I haven't tried that one. Thanks for sharing.

I just looked up what the cyberplate is. I made the same thing out of scrap I had sitting in th garage, years ago... maybe close to four years ago, now. The good news, it really works!! More good news, all the parts to make it are easily accessible and cheap. One thing that really upsets me about the fitness industry is the mind blowing exaggerated prices. In my opinion, these companies have become such elitists.

I hear you. I'm not knocking anyone, but if you got an idea, you can get make fairly inexpensively in China. Can't really blame the companies if people are wanting it and willing to pay though.

I kinda wish it was included in this review but I understand he'd want to stick to the most popular most easily available footplates in the US. For those in Europe or willing to order from Switzerland, I hope a full separate review comes soon. I've been using it myself for almost a year and I think it blows all of those footplates out of the water if you train exclusively with bands. If bands are just a part of your home gym and you also use different equipments then yes maybe a more simple footplate would be preferred

@emilyng2523Ай бұрын
Yeah the Cyberplate is cool. No arguing that, I already pre-ordered the deluxe set since I'm going all in with resistance bands but I genuinely think it will be overkill for you. As mentioned before, you already have all the top tier footplates and even the affordable ones. The only difference I see with this is it will make the reps smoother and can help break through plateaus as well. And will be a lot more easier to set up compared to the Goblins Gym footplate but that's about it. 500 is too much especially since you don't train with just resistance bands. You also have a cable machine, a sliding bench trainer, adjustable dumbbells and the god of smart gyms, Speediance who keeps going up in price.

What's the advantage of the cyberplate compared to other footplates, as far as smootness of the lifts go?
@emilyng2523Ай бұрын
I have the goblins gym footplate I use primarily for my more heavier lifts (ie trap bar squat and stiff legged deadlift) and they have the rollers so that's the closest thing I can compare it too. I think the best way to describe it is that each rep feels very smooth and that the supposedly weak part of the lift is as tough as the strongest part of the lift.
