I think a lot of the small details for this skin go unnoticed. The different vfx when out of ult and in ult, the way his sword lights up when wielding it versus when it’s on his back, the extra lightning and water effects in the river, vfx on the target if you his sweet spot q, the afterimage effect when u e mid-q. there are a lot of things they could have improved on but there are a lot of subtle things they added to this skin as well.

It's out on PBE atm but ofc it's not the "final release", it'll officially release on the 31th of July, if not 1st of August, with it being the final version.

I'm following the development of the skin on the PBE, this video was recorded a long time ago (I believe because skinspotligths take into account the time for edits and the like), the current version of the PBE (which is not the final version) already has numerous improvements, Some of them being the addition of respawn animation and a significant change to the effects while in the river. I also have the impression that they changed his face a little, making it more expressive.

The thing is, any Legendary on a model past 2016 is gonna seem lackluster 'cause the difference from base is gonna be lesser. It's not a massive improvement like legendaries for champs still on their 2011 skeletons.

I feel it should have taken more of a "be scared of the sword, the guy is just holding it" kind of theme, where a lot of the animations and weight of the skin comes from the sword. Segmented as a callback to his pre-work era, a hole on his back that perfectly matches the sword to indicate that this person is nothing more than a sheath, a holding thing for the sword. Make the animations that require sword swinging be portrayed like the sword is swinging itself and the being attatched is JUST barely following up. In terms of looks, id the person out a little more and add more colors to the blade itself, making it more eye catching. If you can afford to krillin aatrox, you can afford to take away his mouth "but then how will he speak?" Is probably what youre wondering. Hes the sword, just make him put his blade in the ground next to him and have it speak as he crosses his arms stoic and silent. Just realized, this would be much cooler as a champion concept than it would a legendary skin, but i dont have 200 years to learn how many dashes a melee user needs

Anything but this tbh, even infernal maybe. This feels too cartoonish and digital for what Aatrox is. I know there is mecha skin but mecha skin does the approach perfectly. It fully makes the character a robot unlike this one, this still keeps Aatrox as a being with blood and flesh. I know, skins are there to change the character as much as possible but while doing that, they also should stick to what champion is like to original for me.
