Thank you for the video! The 0.45 jet is for canned gas, not for white gas. White gas is a purified gasoline and is used with 0.3x-something jet. The gasoline from petrol station is cancerogeneous, so it's best to avoid it.

I'm trying to find out if these can be used with alcohol. For some reason, it's not mentioned anywhere. I absolutely love the silence and total dependability of the Trangia alcohol stove, but the short burn time can be a bit annoying at times.

Thank you for your wonderfull test. I have the last MSR whisperlite, i broke the priming pad too but this priming pad is made of metal mesh. Really fragile once, it has burned. You only get one per maintenance kit, at least at primus everything is available by the piece on their website. When I see the stove, a lot of little details make me feel that it is more premium than my whisperlite. The integrated cleaning needle has never really saved me from a real nozzle cleaning.

Very nice video! I have the old Omnifuel. I noticed that on the newest there is no white filter where you connect the hose. Could you confirm that? On the old model there is also a filter there. I’m having some trouble with mine at the moment, and I’m thinking about maybe removing it, to ser if it helps. Hope you can answer me. Thanks!

I think you can over tighten the fuel pump to the flask a bit more, then the o-ring will compress to a hard plastic ring... lol :P

Hi, I will buy another one. Cause i have to. Going on a 6 week trip through Armenia. Wich one do you recommend. The Omnifuel 2 or the Omnifuel TI ? The problem i also had was that the flame stopper constantly sprung away once it got hot. And no way to seat it well. So annoying. I do not care about if some water takes an extra minute longer to boil. Now with the Omnifuel 2 it is fixed with a spring. With the TI version it is not. But atleast when this also becomes a problem i could buy a TI silencer. Althour i do not care if it is being loud. Then i know it is still burning and you can guess the level of the burn. With the TI is that weak spot on the tube gone ?
@mysony98
@mysony98 Жыл бұрын
The Omnilite ti has a reduced weight and and power, its for 1-2 persons. But its price is high, much higher than in 2020. The flamestopper of it is locked too, look exactly at some photos of the stove. Normaly the stopper should not jump away. to be honest i woundered until now why there is a spring 😂 You can bend the ends of the flamestopper a little bit, that prevents it from jumping away and makes it more stable. I never made the experience that the stopper is able to jump away, i didnt even know that this is a problem 😂 I bought the Omnifuel 2 because it has a higher power and a lower price than the Omnilite ti. But to be honest sometimes i really think about how it would be to have the Omnilite ti now here. What do you mean with the weak spot at the tube? Do you mean the connection between the tube and the part which you can screw at the pump? I didnt have a problem with this part yet for luck, but i have read about many buyers who loses petrol in this weak connection. Primus as a company definitly could be better. I dont like Primus very much, but i bought me the omnifuel and not the Optimus optifuel from catadyn because Primus have much replacement parts

@mysony98
@mysony98 Ай бұрын
@@GrzegorzMazur75 Depends on the specs and the quality as well as the price and replacement part availability. I dont know the soto stormbreaker, but i thinks its a very good competitor to the primus burners. Watch videos how is the weight, how good it performs in several situations, how easy it is to clean or repair... What are the weak spots...The only thing i know about the soto burner is that it looks like it doesnt need preburning like the other burners if u use gasoline. But yeah, as i said i dont know it. My primus omnifuel still works...and i only buyed me this one because i researched hours for burners and the primus omnifuel and the Catadyn optifuel were the only burners who met my expectations

Great video! One question: how about removal/replacement of the fuel filter? I don't think you covered that. Does the fuel filter unscrew from the rigid angled fuel line, or do you pry the filter material out from the brass casing? Many thanks.
@mysony98
@mysony98 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply, there was much to do in last time. The fuel filter is at the down of the little brass pipe where the fuel goes through. It looks like its not exchangeable, the filtermaterial is pressed in a little part made of brass. The filter is hard, but i dont know which material exactly it is. Maybe ceramic.

I have you a sub just because you went through some awesome tests and gave us some links and was very thorough and thoughtful when you didn’t have to be. Thank you for that. I’m looking for a MSR whisperlite alternative because I’ve heard the pumps are fragile because they’re plastic so I’ve been looking at the Primus. This really has been enjoyable. Thank you.

Had the first one for almost 15 years or so. Fucking expensive and constant leaking. Got the pump replaced under warranty but the new one did leak also. But by then i could stick it where the sun does not shine. Due to the leaking it was sometimes very dangerous to use. Had to constantly watch it so i could immendiatly intervene. But one time the whole bottle start to burn with the pump. Had to let it burn cause it was to dangerous to get close. It did not explode but it was completely melted beyond use. I wish i could get another pump for it. Although the burner itself also has some designflaws itself. When the flamedispersor is getting hotter it will act as a spring and jumps from the burner. Is this V2 any better then the V1 ? Or is it more V1.01 ? It is a far to expenisive burner for all the troubles it gave me. Cause sometimes i really had to rely on it. And it failed 90 percent of the time.

Primus has many stoves. The older generation was called "Multifuel". This one had some mistakes. The newer one is the Omnifuel, the newest is the Omnilite ti. Until now, i had no mistakes with the Omnifuel, but one weak part is the tube who connects the pump with the burner. At the first end of the metal tube is a weak spot. In many cases it leaks there. And primus is not able to fix this problem and release a new tube for a good price, next to the bad customer support. In my case, i dont have a leak there yet and no other problems. Iam happy with the stove. One bad point is the burner mesh. But i dont buy other stuff from primus, because this company needs a transformation. The prices are too high, and the quality is not very good, if you look on the price. 150€ for the Omnifuel would be good. And the delivered bag for the Omnifuel is too big and too heavy.

@@keesverhagen9227 I disassembled the complete stove and checked out every single sealing ring and part after i got the stove. Everything looks fine and works. what should i say... every part matches perfect together and works fine.. I just put a different type of fat to the sealing rings. I also heard that the old pumps were not sealed very good. You had to replace the pump at the beginning, using warranty so often until you get a good one. But if you had your stove for 15 years... That time is normal. I think after that time everybody buys a new stove or some replacement parts. The sealing rings get hard after so many years. And with different types of fuel, that process is faster. Its possible that primus made some parts better over the years.

Hi. Great vid thanks !! At 12.12 you mention 0.45 for white gas. I thought the 0.37 is for white gas or unleaded petrol and the 0.45 is for gas cartridges ? Cheers. Dave
@mysony98
@mysony98 3 жыл бұрын
White Gas and Gas cartridges are the same... i think. On the official description it says 0,45mm are for gas. It depends on you. I just used normal petrol until now. Without the Silencer, the 0,37mm is perfect. However, the 0,25mm nozzle is too small for petrol....with the exception of the Silencer. There it runs perfect with petrol.

@@mysony98 Suspect its just different terminology around the world. I'm in New Zealand so definately different terminology here to Europe or States. Primus web site states OmniFuel: Cartridge Gas 0.45 mm, White Gas (or leaded) 0.37 mm, Paraffin/Kerosene or Diesel 0.25 mm

On your video, The ergopump has the black color NRV cap. but all other my recent primus have the red color nrv cap, exceptionally my new omnifuel 2 year21 that is same as this video. This is strange, Recent (means since around 10years from now) Primus ergopump should have the Red one... do you have any idea about this? Meanwhile, the Priming Pad quality is really horrible that I think so. It is piece of shit really.

@@mysony98 I saw that ccs article, it has many variation of ergopumps. The rightest one is that I knew as the last version, red nrv cap. However The very recent omnifuel 2 has a black nrv cap, yet not as the ccs article's 4th one(that is not having lindal valve). Afaik the black nrv cap was existing for very first version of Omnifuel which was shaped as ufo style bell cover. Your very new pump with a black cap revision may still have the tiny screw on the top clip in order to hold firmly the lindal valve part. Meanwhile I've been waiting for a reply from Primus usa, then I will update here what she says. Elder versions, Aluminium blocks, are not considerable for this case.
