I thought the old-time country musicians were somewhat the same way, from the 40s - 80s. Except, I'm saying they're not "rough and tough" here. Not really humorous, just talented at their game while often being relaxing. In other words, they're not formulaic of modern country. The vocals are not showy, not stereotypical, and their guitar picking is surprisingly good to listen to. Guys like Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Joe Maphis, Merle Travis, Roy Acuff (well, not Acuff so much for guitar, but he gets an honorable mention for being in the relaxing old country category.) Probably others too, but I don't know all of them. There's also Danny Gatton, who was mindblowing when he'd get to flying on the strings. But he's more recent, mostly 1980s - 1994, when he got drunk and shot himself. I have no idea why.

Wobbly Ashes You started it!
@appletongallery5 жыл бұрын
Wobbly Ashes - There is no error of spelling. There is an error of punctuation in “fella’s” which should be “fellas”. As far as “they will get shit done” I disagree. “They will get shit done” which is the future tense and “made me think” which is the past tense, juxtaposed together, conveys perfectly the weird incongruity of these huge, plastic grinning cowboys strutting through a field. Replacing “will” with “would” though grammatically “correct” is entirely useless from a rhetorical point of view. “Will” is rhetorically correct in that it properly conveys Evil Gary’s sentiment.
