Prince - 17 Days (Louis La Roche Remix)

I love '17 Days', it's one of my favourite Prince songs. The 1983 live performance version that's on the album 'Piano & A Microphone 1983' is so utterly beautiful. It's just Prince and a piano, no band. I'd say it's possibly better than the studio version. I wanted to create a version I could play in my DJ sets, as his vocal is just so perfect.
I know there's been a couple of other bootleg remixes over the years but I've always felt they've lacked the groove that a Prince song deserves.

i have listened to virtually all prince songs out there ... over decades ... this here is BY FAR THE BEST REMIX EVER of one of his coolest songs. btw i always considered it a missed opportunity that prince never worked with really good remixers. i would have loved seing more millenials in the clubs on the dancefloor dancing to his great songs.

Ahh thanks! That means a lot. It’s funny you mention about remixers, in a way I feel like Prince was his own remixer. The extended versions of ‘When Doves Cry’ and ‘Raspberry Beret’ are so good! Also, his songs with long breakdowns are very ‘remix-like’, a great example is ‘Sexy Dancer’.

i love princes ultralong versions place for musicians do play their instruments with cool ideas that have no place in the short radio edit place for the groove to shine! many of us bought the maxi only for the b-side!
