I have the tour 98 and it is amazing. Excellent control, power and spin from anywhere.

It will suit certain players and it is good that it has worked for you. What was your opinion on the feel of tour 98?

@@bencarpenter3785 So you have the same 100P I tested in the video? Interesting to think that the 100P could be even better of a serving racquet, as it is already a good serving racquet. Top 10 if not Top 5 serving frame on the market.

I used to hit off the Prince Tennis ball machine back in the 80s and 90s and it would blast Tennis balls out, it was awesome!

Great one handed backhand! Lot of pace on that. I’m a fan of the old school Prince frames. The Prince Graphite 110 was a legend among players racquets played by Agassi, Chang, and Sabatini among others and was one of the few oversize frames that was really made for pro tour players. As Prince’s invention, Prince really pushed the 110 and 125 oversize frames more than the 85 and 90 midsize frames that other companies marketed to differentiate themselves. Really great and under appreciated frames today but legendary in the 80’s and 90’s.

Thanks for taking the time to make the comment and the kind backhand remark. My backhand is ok, could be a lot better. Blake has a solid consistent backhand. Did not Agassi play with 107 also? I recall seeing pictures of him with both 107 mostly and 110? Prince has always dominated in the oversize market and I am looking forward to testing out the new Phantoms as I have heard a lot of good things about them. You are right to say they are underappreciated and nearly non-existent at Pro shops. I have to literally order them online if I was to use one. However if Prince was to get behind the 2 pro players I mentioned and upcoming Juniors this would change. Similar to what Solinco did

Which of these 3 Prince Tours do you like the most? Have you tried any of the Tours or even Phantoms?
@billbill4544 ай бұрын
@@mattiastennis I'm a one-handed backhander. Been playing phantoms for the last few years and love them. Had to get the Swing Weight up to 340 for power and stability, esp on the backhand side. I still use the older grey model, can't bring myself to use that cammo new paint job :)
@mattiastennis4 ай бұрын
@@billbill454 Ok. What did you exactly notice or feel on your backhand once you raised the SW to 340? Also the new model may not just be a new cosmetic it could be an entire new racquet. Apparently Zylon instead of Twaron is to be utilised

ATS Tour 98 was an easy transition from the Pro Staff 97. Similar feel and control, but way more arm friendly and soft. One of the best control rackets with a little bit of power in it for sure. Not for the intermediate though.
@mattiastennis20 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Are you still with ATS Tour 98? I found the Pro Staff to be quite different to Tour 98 but can agree that Tour 98 is arm friendly. I just could not come to like the Tours feel even though I liked the Tour 100 310 the most. Definitely 'easier' to play with Tour 98 than Pro Staff 97s
@peterfox86319 күн бұрын
@@mattiastennis Yes. The 98 is great all around. I feel I can play and swing out the same way as with a PS97, but with more comfort. I am a Prince geek because of nostalgia so I do have the bigger ones as well. Tour 100/100P goes a little long and lacks control for me but great rackets. ATS Tour 98, Phantom 100P and 93P (both) are my favorites. Haven't tried the ATS Tour 95. All of these frames are also great for a two handed backhand since the handle is long. The PS97 have a shorter handle, which is sad since PS90 had a long handle just like these new prince rackets.

Lucas & Marc are currently using Tours as is Joran Vilgen

Thank you for mentioning this. Joran is using the textreme version before this? Which Tour is he using? Because I will mention this in a future video. And by Lucas you mean Pouille? And who is Marc?

@@mattiastennis ; Marcel Granollers uses a ported tour. Lucas went back to the 2015 Tour from the PD , Joran also uses the 2015 tour. I based this on current video observation & stills plus an article on Lucas.

@@MrPBODY1966 Allegedly Granollers moved on from the Tours some years back. Interesting that Joran uses the previous model. How did you exactly determine through this observation that both Joran and Lucas are using 2015 Tours? Also would these not be Pro Stock Prince Tour moulds?

I'm just stunned that you gave such low "feel" marks to the Prince sticks when they score so highly with other reviewers; do you just prefer stiff sticks like the Babolats?
@mattiastennis3 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting though I am a bit puzzled ? I explained clearly why I did not like the 'feel' of this specific line of Prince. Its such an odd feel compared to anything else I have played with honestly. It is not just foreign but has no plush feel or pocketing or power on it. What does it give me? Nothing but some odd muteness This is just the textreme tour 2022 and its possible that when I pick up the new Phantoms they will play better. I am not married to any brand and nor should anyone really and the point of my series here is to find my Ultimate Racquet and then others can take whatever they can of all this. Also not every other reviewer likes the textremes and some reviewers do not even touch Prince racquets at all. And what reviewers are you specifically talking about? The ones on TW websites who are mostly low intermediate level ? Or actual Ytubers? Some reviewers will be different, hence why some of us do not all play with the same racquets! My coach for eks - Use Wilson Blade 98s but disliked the textreme tours more than I did. I at least tried to give them a fair trial and even though the 100 was my pick its still inferior. Wilson Blade is way superior to textremes but maybe Prince can win out with the Phantoms. 'do you just prefer stiff sticks like the Babolats?' I do like Babolat frames but I dont like all stiff frames. I am not particularly fond of the Radicals which is a stiff frame. I have used Babolats before the Pure Drive+ back when I was into extended frames and never found it stiff whatsoever. As for Babolat if you dont suffer any pain or injury from them, they and particularly Pure Strikes are great racquets. I even wonder sometimes what 'stiffness' even is anymore or how it can really be measured. Until it can be meaningfully measured and with precision, its best just to go off how you feel / the absence of pain / flex or not?
@patricioab2 ай бұрын
@@mattiastennishello! Stiffness can be mesure with Babolat rdc machines. But the thing is much more complex because each frame vibrate in different ways and there are lots of technologies to eliminate them...
@mattiastennis20 күн бұрын
@@patricioab That is why there needs to be an update in the technology and measure standard not just this RA 'rating' and everyone takes it as the concluding statement. I have played with Pure Drives and Pure Aeros(both stiffest frames allegedly) and have had NIL problems but then pick up Pure Strikes and had to stop using them. How can it be that Pure Strike causes soreness/injury whilst Pure Drive does not? Same problem I had with Yonex Ezone 98+ / regular 98 2020 and 2022 which causes wrist and forearm injuries for me. There needs to be a sports scan device that can analyse each players swing and internal stress on the arm on contact and then determine a racquet to match respectively.
