I wondered about that beach section! We had two other walkers who did this beach walk from Brackley to Dalvay earlier this fall. 'Think I'll add it as a route alternative for 2025! Thanks, you two!! :-)

It’s a fabulous stretch Bryson. I’m not even sure it was low tide when we did it, but there seemed to be enough beach to walk on comfortably 👍🏼🐌

Wow, what a day...9 k's on the beach! What a change in weather for you too...going from very hot days, to cool days...but at least no rain!! What shoes are you talking about at the end of the video? Looking for some very comfortable walking /hking shoes...really great video!

Thank you so much, as always 🙏🏼❤️. LOL yes, the weather range on PEI was pretty vast, but no surprises there these days. It’s why we knew we’d need a bounce bag with different gear and clothing so at least we were prepared. We enjoy the cold much more than the heat. Are you guys warm weather or cold weather hikers? The shoes are Top Athletic UltraVenture 3 wide fit. The wide is important to get the wide toe box which has been super handy at helping us avoid blisters. They also have a thicker, bouncier sole than our Altra Lone Peaks. We love them.

@@ChonkyTrundlers thanks, will look them up...hard to get many shoes in wide...I go out every day, even in the winter!! Though I would rather go out in shorts, and t shirt! When It is hot, get out early an walk on the shady side of the streets/trails..

As my handle may suggest, I love time by the ocean (typically beachcombing), and this video had that in spades. Dramatic skies, great reflections, beautiful light, with stops at Dalvay by the Sea and Covehead lighthouse to boot. Tina, can you tell me the name of your walking shoes that have been so comfortable? Looking forward to the return of Hedwig in future videos.

Ahhh, now you’re talking. Beachcombing is one of our favourite pastimes ❤️. The Dorset coast in the UK has a stretch known as the Jurassic Coast, which as you can guess is a fabulous place for finding fossils, rocks etc. Once you know what to look for you are sometimes literally falling over them. Well worth a visit if you’re a beachcomby person 👍🏼 Hedders is making the most of our short impass whilst we sort gear, swap things in and out of storage, do a bit of admin etc. So he’s having a quick bit of hibernation 😂. The shoes are Topo Athletic UltraVenture 3, wide. The wide is quite important. They have a lot thicker sole than the Altra Lone Peaks, so a little bit more bouncy, but that’s no bad thing. Plus of course the wide toe box. Combine that with some Injinji Toe Socks and you’ve got a pretty unstoppable combo. We’ve both switched to them, although Keith still has his Altras as well. @ChonkyTrundlers Thanks so much. And yes, the Jurassic Coast would be a dream to visit. I follow some UK beachcombing and mudlarking accounts on KZbin and Instagram. The scenery is as wonderful as the beach finds.
