My daughter used to work at a polo club as a groom. Pay was excellent, but she often complained about the fact that the horses would be utterly exhausted, foam at their mouths and that the owners/players were unfriendly and arrogant. I have seen firsthand how nervous, skittish and scared polo horses are. They are scared of humans and it was a job which my daughter had to give up for her own sanity. Instead, she now canters along the seaside whenever she has the opportunity-much healthier! Boycott Harry’s ‘documentary’!

For example our dogs love travelling even fireworks don’t bother them - it’s all about how and what you do with your animals … Look at horse trainers like Monty Roberts etc, they don’t use hurtful training tools - that is what I follow and believe in. I’m using that mindset in training pets, horses even donkeys - and believe it or not with children too. It is possible to train animals with love, patience and understanding so they can enjoy it. Polo has been considered by many to be a cruel sport for big males to abuse small polo ponies. I have heard for some time about Harry fiercely riding a little pregnant mare and she died from that cruelty. I have also seen video of Harry spurring his pony and using spurs with such cruelty that their was blood running down the pony's side. If Harry starts claiming any kind of respect for animals, it will be outrageously false. Sickening. Harry is actually known to be a particularly cruel polo player. He is disgraceful. I hate to see large men riding the life out of little polo ponies. The polo riders use spurs and whips to torture them into injurious turns and speed. I would like to see Harry play Polo on a Clydesdale, with no spurs or whips and wearing slippers. Harry might illustrate actual courage by speaking against torturing and murdering the small Polo Ponies. I doubt he has the strength of character to do anything in which he cannot claim power over a small defenseless animal. I guess maybe Harry gets off on abusing creatures which cannot fight back.

There’s a you tuber called “the moons” who live in France running a wonderful charity for horses old and retired horses, horses that would have been sold for meat, horses that have been over worked and no longer of use. It’s so sad to see. The moons do a wonderful job taking care of such horse and give them a second life before,they die of old age. I would not be surprised if the moons have saved such horse as these! So cruel to treat horses in this way.😢

Polo is a sport played in many countries and different championship & tournaments are held for it. There are rules for both players as well as ponies which are followed to maintain safety. Some players do misuse their horses and accidents does happen but its not fair to generalize it as useless. Drizzle was pregnant and he was told not to ride her but he’s such a selfish you know what he did anyway and she had a heart attack & died along with her baby. He is a horrible person.

I have watched Harry in much earlier Polo Games from quite some time ago. I didn’t watch an entire Polo match as it was so utterly boring. It was just a segment, snippets, shown from a small portion of various polo matches that Harry would take part in. What always struck me when I watched him was the manic way he rode the horses in those polo matches. With a determined crazed aggressiveness he would race down the field on the back of some unfortunate horse. He had to win at all costs. You could see it in his whole demeanour. It was sickening to watch that competitiveness that he seems unable to control in a less manically driven way. He HAS to win at all costs. If he did not win you would see him shouting & being angry throwing an angry fit. The one time they had a caption of him taking part in a polo match. I saw Harry riding a whitish horse. He had spurs on and you could not help but see the blood marks on the sides of the horse that he was riding. You knew what had caused that to happen. I was never impressed with the utterly reckless way he drove those Polo horses wielding, & flaying his mallet like a crazed, possessed person. I have never liked Harry. Right from the time he was a young child. He was sullen & pouted if he didn’t win or get his own way. He was just a nasty person & I found him very off-putting. You just got the impression that no matter what, he had to win, & better his brother William. That even went for social athletic runs. You see him looking back all the time to see if he is ahead of Prince William. He just cannot approach life, it would seem, without him being Number 1. Behaving like a 2 year old when things don’t go his way.

Thanks for highlighting this issue. Disgusting behaviour to treat horses this way, same as horse racing. There was an incident filmed years ago with Harry being angry at his horse at the polo, along with a bloodied spur. To ride Drizzle whilst pregnant, against veterinary advice, and then she died…no words 😢. He should have been banned from the sport for life. Better still they need to ban the whole thing. I remember the incident of the Australian Polo ponies, they were in a trailer onboard (overnight) the Spirit of Tasmania ferry, after playing a match in Tasmania and returning to mainland Australia. Absolutely appalling, I think the shipping company were charged also.
