Agree! It’s so fast paced that the movie audience who haven’t read the book will find it hard to get attach to HRH Henry and Alex but the two actors’ chemistry, acting, and delivery of speech made me sit through the entire movie. I swear it’s like seeing Henry and Alex alive.

When I first heard the news that they were adpating RWRB, I was so sure it would be a mini-series like Heartstopper, but the trailer mentioned it was a movie and I admit I was a little disappointed at first. But after watching the movie, I fell in love with it. I still stand by the fact that a 6-8 episode mini-series with 45ish mins for each episode would have made all the characters far more lovable and the romance would have been incredible. Still, fantastic job!

When I read the book, I felt I was reading Alex's POV mostly. And I really wanted to know more about what was in Henry's mind. Cos he was a bit complex in some ways. When I saw the cast, I immediately saw Alex was perfect. Charming, dashing, outgoing, bubbling with energy. I haven't seen Nick's previous works and Henry is somewhat like a mystery anyway. So I had my expectations neutral. But after seeing the movie, I feel like I've read Henry's POV too. Cos oh boy his longing stares, hesitant glances, nervous fidgeting, measured smiles...perfect Henry for me. For instance, in this scene, the moment he takes before apologizing, swallowing hard collecting himself. Now I can really visualize how Henry would have looked in any scene from the book. Amazing performance. And I thank Nick for bringing us Henry in flesh.

Alex and Henry are really great complements to each other. Alex is so vocal with his opinions and feelings. Whereas Henry can say 1000 words with a single glance. And through their relationship, I think they’ve learned from each other, though it feels like Henry has learned to be more expressive. Alex is still Alex for the most part.😂

Alex sulking is so cute in this scene. I absolutely love Taylor's portrayal. I know everyone is already saying he's perfect as Alex but lemme say it again. He is PERFECT as Alex. I honestly can't think & imagine anyone else playing this character other than Taylor. The way I fell in love with Alex & Taylor at the same time is insane to me. So glad I gave the book & the movie a chance.

I do love how the movie is different from the novel at this part. In the novel, Henry indeed has said "get rid of him" which is a bit harsh, however, in the movie, what Henry said to Shaan is I need to get out of here and Alex misheard as "Get me out of here", which makes the beginning of the misunderstanding, sounds softer and a lot better to me.

It's been commented on before, but worth noting how sweet it was that in the moment Alex looks really scared and anxious at 0:44, Henry visibly notices this and decides to help ease Alex's anxiety by lightening the mood and complimenting Alex's cologne. It's a small, but really sweet moment and was a testament, not only to the screenwriting, but also to Nicholas' acting. He really makes it clear there why he's saying the line; it's a line in any other scene that would be difficult to fit in, but here it makes total sense the way he played it out. There are nuances like this that you catch when watching the movie on repeat 😅❤

I know that this is a somewhat silly comment to add here, but I am a native English speaker and I found that turning ON the English subtitles really helped to nail the subtle nuances (especially Henry's witty dialogue), that many people might have missed. I have noticed this in several posts/comments below. For those re-watching this flick, I urge you to try the subtitles. It's a revelation... Trust me.

I loved the movie from start to finish. The chemistry between the actors is incredible. Could not have been bettered. There are a few scenes that seriousky warm the cockles if my tired old heart, and this is certainly one of them. I loved it so much I bought the book. It is even better. I am rather hoping a sequel is in the works. Either that or they follow the idea of "More Than Only" and create a series of follow up short movies. MTO is up to 6 so far, and it is an interesting way to keep the characters engaging with the audience.

The more i rewatch this movie the more i see the subtle signs of Henry's feelings earlier on. Remembeing what he said, looks, and flirtiness to some of the jokes etc. Its great because it mirrors real life, when someone likes us we often don't notice at first unless its obvious

Henry had no excuse for being rude to Alex in their first meeting; he could have at least given a polite little 'hi', but considering he was still grieving, he didn't want to talk to anyone. But at least he apologized later, though years later, and he and Alex were able to reset their relationship😊
