My very first concert was Prince and Rick James ill-fated Punk and Funk tour not long after this video was made. Rick James was the bigger star at the time but Prince stole the show. I can still remember Prince coming out on stage in knee-high stockings, high heels and a trench coat, and gyrating on the floor to “Let’s Work”. What a genius he was. No wonder Rick James hated him.
@jimy08034 ай бұрын
@aprodutube nah, Rick’s beef was Prince wouldn’t give his mom an autograph at a time when she was a huge fan. however, there was always that “competitive competition” amongst artists that was natural.
@aprodutube4 ай бұрын
@@jimy0803 It was a little bit more than “competitive competition”. By Rick's own admission he once grabbed Prince by the neck and tried to pour whiskey down his throat knowing that Prince was a non-drinker. And, according to Tina Marie, Rick stole one of Prince's expensive synthesizer's on tour that Prince had programmed. I like Rick but he crossed the line with his hatred of Prince. Prince was so much more talented than Rick and Rick had a hard time accepting that.
@jimy08034 ай бұрын
@@aprodutube they were competitors who were constantly trying to one-up the other. the cognac incident allegedly took place at a party Rick invited Prince to. Rick felt Prince stole elements of his stage show from him, as well as the idea of the girl group. Rick’s response to Vanity 6, was that he (Rick) put out a girl group who could actually “sing”. it was always competition amongst artists. how do u think they got to where they are?

See that was a virtuoso performance on guitar . When people rank the GOATS , they should note that Prince not only commanded the Rock Style on guitar but he played the rhthm guitar like no other . That alone should easily put him in the top ten on the all time list .
