I bought this album in 1979 when I was 19. Its 2023 and I'm still listening to it. Truly timeless music.

I bought this on it's release. It's still as fresh today. One of the most underappreciated vocalists in reggae.

I could have sworn album Humanity came out a bit earlier than '79, but I'm probably wrong. It was one of the Royal Rasses' best 3 albums, the other 2 being Experience, and Natural Wild. Natural Wild was recorded in London, rather than Jamaica where the band normally recorded, so the band had to fly to Britain. Unfortunately several band members had been charged with drug offences, and were temporarily unable to fly, having surrendered their passports. So Joe Jackson produced the album, and played on it, along with a couple of his own band . Thompson later said it was his least favorite record, and that he regretted having made it, but I don't agree with his assessment. Natural Wild has a thinner, sharper sound that feels appropriate for the songs, and Jackson's arranging and production is spot on. I was lucky enough to see the band in about '80 or '81, with the full Jamaican line-up, and they were FANTASTIC! One of the best gigs I ever went to, and certainly the best reggae show I've ever seen.

Had this on 12" back in the day. One of those records that were opening up a new frontier for reggae at the time, but probably not highly regarded by the hardcore.
