Prince of Persia (1989) Speed-run

This is my personal best speed-run for Prince of Persia (1989) so far. I finished in 19 minutes and 11 seconds.
Prince of Persia (1989) by Jordan Mechner is the godfather of all platform games, and I’d say it still is one of the best that was ever made, considering its quite realistic gameplay (the motions, not the graphics) versus the limited game development technologies of its era.

In fact there’s an even much faster way to beat level 1, I’ve seen it online by many speedrunners but I myself couldn’t manage to do the trick. They simply run and jump through the guard somehow. It has to be well timed, so precise that I couldn’t pull off over hundreds of tries. Check other videos, you’ll see it!
