Dave Grohl didn’t know Prince was going to do his song. He found out while watching it live . He said he cried. ❤

@@GarnetJ That is pretty much what he said 😁 I’m sure it must have felt a little unreal at first. I watched the show live and I was confused when Prince started singing it. 😂🥰

I think Dave Grohl had said he'd heard the demo/rehearsal of it that either Prince (or Pepsi, or the NFL) had leaked to The Howard Stern Show during the week before the game, so there was already speculation that it was going to be in the set list.

I love this reaction because it's actually an informed reaction. Prince's stage presence and audience interaction absolutely rivaled his musical genius. The fact that he generated so much stadium participation that the audience members were the only ones singing at the end is just one epic piece of a hugely epic performance. The day even God showed up as a Prince fan.

My friend I appreciate this 🙏 I was a sound guy and a stage manager for a long time, and I just wanna give a little extra to appreciate. Hard not to with Prince!!

To me that was the most special part of an insane performance -- the dude was humble enough to let the crowd finish it off for him. Who does that? The fact that they asked before the show if he wanted to cancel because of the storm and he said 'can you make it rain harder?', just elevates how fearless and iconic he was.

Best part of the whole show for me is the chills I get when you hear the audience going all in when he throws his hands up and the mic down.

THE #Prince halftimeshow is the Number 1 spot. No special featured guests and he could've done ALL his own songs BUT he included SONGS for every age group.. #PRINCE can do covers,But No one can cover #Prince says it all.

Amazing reaction - I’ve watched this a million times and didn’t realize how much he modded his guitars…great insight. It’s so crazy - almost nobody performs live at the Super Bowl because of all the risk and he’s out there covering Dylan and Foo Fighters 😂😂. I was lucky enough to attend a Prince after hours show back in the 90’s and that’s just how he did it. Came on at a club at 1am after he already played a 3 hour show and covered Temptations, Stevie, etc. and tons of Prince hits. So of course he turns the biggest music gig in the world into his personal after hours show. He’s the 🐐

An absolute musical genius. Was lucky enough to see him perform 3 times. Still hard to believe he’s gone. Also agree with the others, you def need to check out While my guitar gently weeps. One of the best guitar solos ever!

This is a legendary Super Bowl halftime performance. It will be hard to beat, by anyone anytime. And the Foo Fighters cover was fantastic!! I would have loved to see Dave Grohl’s reaction 😉 Prince was not only an insanely talented musician and songwriter, but an entertainer through and through. Sad I never saw him live. One of a kind.

Please react to " When my guitar gently weeps." This performance was a tribute to the Beetles. And Prince had a solo piece, which is amazing, and it's reviewed as one of the best solo acts ever. IT IS AMAZING, PRINCE WAS AMAZING

No, it WASN'T a tribute to the Beatles. It was a tribute to George Harrison upon his posthumous induction into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame - his second induction where he was recognized for his solo career. George Harrison wrote the song and had a successful and impactful music legacy well beyond The Beatles. That video never once claims to be a Beatles tribute - and its a pretty major distinction.

I saw Prince eight times in Detroit throughout the years in all kinds of different venues and work as a stage hand at one of his shows at Joe Louis arena. What can you say? The charisma just oozes out of this guy. You run out of the words trying to describe him and his talents. God I miss this guy. 😭💜💜💜

Prince was so incredibly talented as musician, especially guitar, singer and creator of music. It’s so sad he died at such an early age. This half time showed his talent and devotion to perform to such a high degree of perfection with complicated music, singing and dancing while on heels on a soaking wet platform. There is another amazing performance when he joins a band of the very famous musicians to honor George Harrison and plays ‘While my guitar gently weeps’: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moi1dKKle7CeacU

This is without question the Greatest Super Bowl Show Ever. Prince was told before going on stage that it was raining he said " Can you make it rain HARDER" Prince didn't do just his own songs which is outstanding. This was a LEGEND AND TRUE TALENTED PROFESSIONAL!!! Also a world class Guitarist. It is raining heavy yet it looks like the rain is missing Prince. This is an immortal performance!!! GOD was there.

Just a little heads up about his guitar’s… It’s a Horner guitar as you mentioned unique to the Horner Hellcaster guitar is that unlike most T-Style guitar’s it’s solid maple (giving it a bit more brightness than typical in a telecaster) He’s also using Debardeen Pickups - The Stratocaster guitar has EMG Pickups - He’s playing through one Soldano SLO 100 Head and One Orange Head through Oversized Mesa 4/12 Cabinets - The effects are all Boss with the exception of the VOX Wah Wah Pedal and The Digitech Whammy Pedal - Great Reaction… Cheers

For a half of the time he played somebody else's music. From queen to hendricks to foo fighters. No problem. That was Prince showing. All that music sounded his own. I really can't undestrand how they could still play football after that.

you seem to understand what's going on with prince's playing :o so he's allowed to do all he does because the honer can handle a lot of gain?? all concert guitars receive a lot of gain though... why is this one special?
@Beldvlmnt Жыл бұрын
Gain is the information that is sent from the guitar pick ups to the amp (kinda lol paraphrasing) so the more and more of the guitar you send to the amp, the more and more signal and noise is created. Some pick ups can handle much more of that noise before starting to make weird sounds or break up - it’s a weird specific part of the guitar most people wouldn’t influence I don’t think. That being said, Prince probably gets it
