He's the only all time great artist who has hits across the genres and vocal ranges. Normally they say you should have have distinctive voice and sound but he defies convention. By 1985 Prince's "Minneapolis" sound was all across the R&B and Pop charts. Everyone was trying to sound like Prince...but Prince, he'd already moved on.
