re. "what is the dude wearing?!" LOL - - Actually, one of the best Reactions I've seen to this song was from a girl who was a Fashion Model. As you'd expect, she came at it from a Totally different direction. Was quite interesting.

I paused the video to check the comments for current legendary artists. Granted this video has only been up for a little while but we'll see if anyone comes up with someone. That said.....Prince was a bit of early Bowie in his fashion. Even up to his death.... but darn....he got the beautiful girls! Haven't heard this in forever. Thanks Zana!

Raspberry Beret. Prince wrote the song Nothing Compares to You, sung by Sinead O'Connor and wrote the song Manic Monday popularized by The Bangles. He sang in a duet with Madonna on This is not a love song, and played lead guitar on the intro to the track Like a Prayer

Been a huge fan ever since I discovered him. He was so brilliant ... writing, arrangements, singing, musical instruments (self taught), acting, dancing ... there was nothing he couldn't do. Loved his falsetto. He may have been small in stature but he was huge on stage. If you're only starting to see his music videos, are you in for a surprise. Gone too soon 💜

wOw ❣ That's a first for me... I've actually NEVER seen the video. Yes, Prince stretched and change the way people dressed, both men and women. And deffo the way a man could "act" and dance in a video. 🥰🥰 My wish for a VIDEO must be SIGN of the TIMES.... 🤔, and have a good one, all you wonderful peeps out there 💖✨✨🌟

Whenever I hear this song I start to sing in that high pitched voice (and that's something nobody wants to hear, haha), just can't help it 😁 Definitely my favourite song by Prince! The video is just fantastic, Prince and his dance moves combined with humor is priceless. Even dressed like that, high heels and everything (btw, did you see him dancing, running and sliding on his knees in those shoes?!) Prince was still a man who was adored by women big time! Unique reaction, Hap! Besides musical insight, those who are still waiting for their first kiss could have learned something from you about necessary preparations, lol

This song was originally recorded by a band called Mazerati after he gave it to them...reportedly, he sent them out for a dinner break and they came back to his version...LOL! He took the song back, took the bass line out, left them in the background, added the guitar.

He played drums gender piano, produced edited bit then got his band was called the 'revolution' was a mix of men, women, black white, different styles, back when it wasntbl cool. It's what he wanted. A 'revolution ' he hated the industry that he signed to as a young shy artist. He rately did ant unterviews but as he got older he spoke out. Now we all know if course. But he was 1 of the first to say it xxx

Yes. There was WAY shock value, especially back then…! BUT, YES!! HE WAS THAT GOOD. People looked right past it. AND, he had that “misfit” factor. Everyone is a little sort of weird; everyone would probably be happier if they were honest with themselves. ODDLY ALSO HE HAD A HOT FACTOR. Not sure what it is but he had it! I personally think the song is way better without the video on this one, but HEY made you look didn’t it?!

QUESTION: How did you get it to sound like this "in stereo"? Usually each of my speakers on my headphones sound the same as each other, equally. Yeh, when I was a kid, each tall speaker said different things ~independently~. = STEREO. This sounds really good. How'd you do that? Oh crap WAIT. I just learned something interesting. -> Same headphones… iphone13promax versus my hewlet packard cheap laptop… (same headphones) ~cheap laptop = decent stereo! ~$1200 iPhone (again) = incessant, unequivocal, masochism. }stop buying them!{

This song was originally written by one of his former band members who made a demo of this song. But Prince decided to take the song from him and gave himself credit for it. Prince change some of musical production and the singing style of the demo.
