I had a relative who was Scottish and served in the British Army. He was at Bergen Belsen after the Nazis had fled and he told me that he would never forget the atrocities that he witnessed. He always said to us never forget, and be kind to Jews as they have suffered enough. He was 18 years of age. We must never forget how quickly a cultured society descended into barbarity and inhumanity, which resulted in the industrialised deaths of over 6 millions Jews.

Yesterday I felt compelled to do an act of kindness on Holocaust Memorial Day. I did t know what it would be. Later in the day I saw a homeless man sitting in the doorway. He looked so cold. I went and bought him some gloves and food and drink. He was very thankful. Man has done such evil to one another in the world. When you can. Just be kind.

As the choir sang that song 'Stand By Me' - so fitting, as we see that the people stand by each other, the Prince & Princess truly stand by the people, and the two of them most certainly stand by each other as a couple. I was 12 when your beautiful mother came on the scene, and like any 12 year old girl, I was enthralled with the thought of being a princess. I had my hair cut like hers and followed her every move, and I still have somewhere in a box a letter from one of her ladies-in-waiting, thanking me for a little needlepoint of a Beatrix Potter character, Jeremy Fisher, I had sent as a 12-year-old for your nursery at your birth. It was enthralling for a young tween to receive such a letter, and I am so touched by what beautiful Princess Alice did! You and your family are beloved. 🙏🏻💖👑

This is lovely to see.... we need to remember, i feel this is a good part of what is going wrong with society today. The longer we grow in time away from our Great Wars the less people remember the atrocities and therefore they tend to be repeated.
