"I'M NOT DONE YET!" Haaa!! Please understand how great this man was. A concert that was well over 2 hours., this was his ENCORE before he ended with Purple Rain! The man was a BEAST onstage. Perfect seats. I saw "The Kid" 8 times. This was concert number THREE. We made our way up front. Seeing him grow as a musical genius and an amazing humanitarian was a blessing. From New York in 1980, when he was just finding his way, all the way to my last concert. Musicology on.... April 21, 2004. :[ I bought tickets in 2011 and gave them to my daughter. She wanted me to come with her. I told her that she was about to see a true musical genius and she needed to take a friend that loved him as much as she did. Yup, I was crying and shaking when I gave her those tickets. "I've seen him 8 times. It's YOUR turn now." BIG HUG. MANY TEARS. I dropped her and her girlfriend off at the Coliseum in Charleston. Memories flooded me. Young, wild Prince in crappy costumes. Older, more sophisticated, incredible control over every aspect of his art. I could hear the roar of the crowd from the parking lot. I cried like a baby and DIDN'T KNOW WHY. I was happy for my daughter. But, something was wrong. I knew that I would never see him again. I pulled myself together when the crowd started spilling out of the building. I see my beautiful, 16-year-old daughter. (I had her when I was 40 years old) She's crying. HARD. So is her girlfriend! "What's WRONG?? ARE YOU TWO OK??" "Ohhh!! MOMMM!! He was wonderful!! We never wanted it to ENNNND!!" Thank you, Prince. Thank you. I love you and miss you so damned much.

I had a double hip replacement in my 40s. I did crazy workouts/did splits most of my life but not like him. I’ve been watching Prince vids recently. That’s a lot of wear and tear on his body. Wonder how long he had it? Don’t know much about his religion or if it’s true that he couldn’t have surgery bc of his religion. I remember asking my neighbor who are JW. It sounded like yes or something that sounded like yes you can have some procedure or alternative. I didn’t want to keep asking him or think I’m going to start some altercation. They’re nice people. Knew them over 25yrs
@Emma-ey8cu Жыл бұрын
@caroldaronch1974 he did have hip replacement from my understanding but problems persisted. He also had problems with his hands. I always wondered how he played the guitar so well bc he was a small man, but his hands were big for his size. The heels I think created the problems. You will see in his later videos he no longer wore the heels. Part of me also believes he was tired. He had given everything to us on stage. He was a Jehovah Witness and very religious. I read that his wife Mayte was told of the problems with the baby before delivery and the Dr wanted to do different things and Prince rejected everything bc he felt God wld take care of it. They cldnt change the deformities so I don't know what the idea was. He got 3 different women pregnant but they all had problems with miscarriages. That tells me the issue was more than likely with Prince and it seems he had a hard time excepting that. He really wanted kids but it wasn't to be. The things he carried privately were probably incredibly heavy. I really believe he was ready to go even though it wasn't his choice to leave here.

I've seen many die in pain bcuz there WERE NO alternatives. They throw "alternatives " put there as if it's always one. Most if the time there is none. You are right there are people that only take pain meds for pain. I’m one of them. I had undiagnosed head injury for 16 years that caused unrelenting headaches at all times. I was on pain meds that were given to cancer patients and getting fentanyl shots. The only time I had relief was when I slept. Doctors thought I just wanted to get more drugs. I didn’t. I just wanted to stop hurting. Finally I found the right neurologist that knew what was wrong. I’m off pain meds completely now. There is that 1% that really need the pain medication. Yes, I feel the same way. I saw him twice; but not the energy he has in this video. I saw him at a State University where he sang all his songs and played several instruments. The 2nd concert was very low key; and he sang a lot of slow music. I didn't get that and was disappointed. I would have loved to see him with the energy he has in this video.

My wife and I saw him live in Scotland, Diamonds & Pearls tour, 1992 Glasgow. Awful support acts (Shakespeare's Sister, anyone?) but as soon as he hit the stage, everything changed ........... at one point, the band were in full on jam mode, Prince went off, in between numbers, to change but he knew the cameras were still on him, him being 'changed' outfits by gorgeous women backstage all the while 'winking' at the camera, knowing it was going out on the huge screens out the front. He appeared back onstage up the top (the stage was three high) next to the drummer, did a somersault, bounced off a kiddie trampoline, somersaulting, again down onto the next level where the horn section were, landed doing the splits and the mike stand just coming up to his mouth (a la Purple Rain) and just carried on, as if nothing was happening. I was gobsmacked, never seen anything like it ever!
