Like I'm 13 go to 3rd grade but I could just hack someones phone and get their whole social media, I could do security hacks so I can attack them or secure them, so basically im a Hacker at the age of 13 it is not like that I have like straight F's no my grades are fine but I wouldnt need something called grades or school because I taught myself how to Hack do like security Hacking and some shit u know. Ya honestly? School has broke me down. Way down. I’m in my last year of high school right now and school has destroyed my self esteem and imagination. I’ve always sucked at math. My brain can’t process it. I don’t even remember all of my multiples and what am I called for it? Stupid. On the other hand? Knowing the complex inner workings of societies? Being practically an empath? Being able to do over 20 forms of art with relative skill and creativity? Fuck, that doesn’t matter. It never has. And what do I do? I end up holding back tears as I stare at a board full of numbers and symbols for a theoretical problem. This doesn’t make sense. This isn’t a problem I can solve. It’s fake. It’s like trying to design an alien with no traits ever seen on earth. You can’t solve what isn’t there. It frustrates me to no end, and as a result? I only get screamed at. Called lazy, called stupid. This has been going on ever since I’ve joined school. K-12. And now? I’m not passionate about everything. The world feels like a black and white comic, drained of color. When I was little I used to write and draw all the time. Create fantasy worlds so complex they made more sense than some of our real life societies. I’m Synthetic and I used to see colors that weren’t there everywhere And now I just see them when I’m sad. Faint ghost imprints in my vision. Now it’s just grey.

As a student who usually gets straight A's, I absolutely hate the education system. Albert Einstein didn't create his Theory of Relativity because his teacher assigned him to make one, and neither was it because his mom told him he had to get A's at school. It was because he was genuinely interested in it and found it as something he wanted to devote his life to. I personally love Chemistry and Biology, but I would be lying if I said I loved my science classes. I learnt more studying at home, found more pleasure in discussing ideas with friends, and found peace reading through textbooks in my free time. Still, as soon as it was assigned to me, I hated reading through textbooks and studying, cramming and overloading my brain with more and more data that I wanted to sleep but can't because I was too anxious for the test the next day. What the hell is school doing if they can't observe this with millions upon millions of students struggling and pointing out the obvious.
@DoNotSubscribetoMePlease2 жыл бұрын
Man, I feel the same way. Even though I’m not quite a straight-A student, I am also sick of it. Teachers are always saying “do your homework, do a 3-page math problem in under 2 minutes, blah blah blah.” We used to do in-person teaching because it was more immersive and more fun because I had actual help from a human being in-person, but now we’re doing online and it sucks because network issues and other stuff that can’t help me exceed my knowledge. I have a disorder so it is worsening my intelligence, too. School at this point is just as good as trying to learn something on Nightmare mode. School is failing us at becoming an asset in society, all they wanna be are grade-A teachers and staff rather than having their students A-grade. Now they’re just looking for students who get A grades. I hope you have a really good future and life 😊
@ughriley-95382 жыл бұрын
I’m also a straight A student, and I completely agree. Every day when I come home with a test it isn’t about what I learned, or how I improved, it’s what score I got.

When you specifically mention the getting an extra hour of sleep over working, I completely agree. Since going to college, I’ve started prioritizing sleep and other healthy habits over school work and this has led to way more productivity and success in learning. I set a deadline for my homework and studies, and if I don’t finish them in time, I simply accept I could have started them sooner and go to bed because doing slightly better on an assignment worth less than half a percent of my grade is never going to be worth an extra hour of sleep that allows me to learn better the next day. It’s greatly improved my outlook on school and learning and I’m hoping others can prioritize their own health over grades, even if it seems like a bad choice

@jakeg43096 жыл бұрын
The biggest problem with school is they aren’t focused on the individual students, they are focused on the students as a group. Easy evidence of this is test averages. Today I had a science teacher talk about our grade averages for ten ten minutes (about 25% of class time) (45 minute classes) which is insane, because instead of telling us how to improve, we are just being told that we did it wrong. I signed up for a premed elective, and you know what the curriculum is... medical terminology... Literally a pure example of memorizing things. If someone is going to be a doctor, maybe that can be helpful. But for someone who wants to be a actor or a engineer, why in the world would they spend 45 minutes every day memorizing things. Schools should be more interactive, instead of desks, sofas and couches. Instead of the typical white board and copying things, have a class discussion. There are so many small changes that could be made to help schools around the world succeed. Edit: Woah 60 likes in 2 hours! Tell me what you all think in the comments Edit: 400+ likes! Read, research, watch videos/movies, do the activities and topics that interest you. Look into topics deeper. Don’t just take what you are told in school as the whole picture. It’s the picture from a certain point of view.

That's because when the teacher was explaining something, you let him/her go to a next part even though you didn't understand. Obviously, if you amount a quantity of thing you don't understand bc you don't listen/ask questions then you won't get it. So next time a teacher tells something that you don't understand, just raise your hand and ask her/him to repeat until you do understand. Doesn't matter if she/he has to repeat 10 times bc he's paid to teach you, and that if you don't understand that other don't understand either.

Ive been homeschooling my son since covid...and he told me he has never been happier; we only do 2 to 3 hours of school per day the rest of the time we just enjoy each others company; no traffic in the mornings, no worries about school uniforms; books; stationery or dealing with teachers or bullies; and most important to homeschool is in my country is free if the parent is the tutor; most people are shocked to find out that i homeschool my 14 year old because in South Africa is almost unheard of....but im proud of myself because my son gets individual love and attention that no teacher would be able to provide 🙏🏼🇿🇦

It gave me social awkwardness It made me lonely It gave me fake friends It gave me depression and stress It shut down my dreams of being a comic artist. I always would doodle in class and in stead of being calm about it... I went to the principles because instead of doing what I dream of and what I have a passion for, I should've been learning algebra. School is useless bull crap. Some teachers are nice. No. None for me have ever been nice. School gave me social anxiety, stress, no friends, it gave me bullys to deal with, it gave me burns and scratches from the bullies that i was too afraid to face and tattle on.

I loved Elementary school, but when I got to middle school I HATED IT, school is basically just getting straight A' s it's annoying, and the fact that your forced to go to school is pretty messed up, and honestly this is like you are born a few years later you go to school from about age 4 to she 18, that's wasting 16 years and most of the things you learn you won't even remember them in a few years, Mary and English are the only subjects that sort of matter

This video hit me hard. He is so right. There are so many things that they could change to make it better. I have suicidal thoughts and depression, it doesn't help if every time I forget to turn something in a teacher talks me I have to do it again. "Why don't you understand it?" "Why didn't you go to tutorials?" Pat of the reason I have lost the passion to learn is because I've stopped learning. Every night I have math and science homework. On top I have a project in language arts and social studies, not to mention band art and theater. And what about fitness? They tell us so much and expect us to be able to do everything. What if I don't have time? I still have to eat, I still need time for my family, I need time to chill. I get home at 5 o'clock in the afternoon each day and to get a good nights rest I need to be in bed by 10. They don't think of outside life. My brother has autism, I have a medical disorder that has no cure, and I've only heard of one person trying to figure it out. There is so much more to life than A's. As much as I want to change this I can't do it alone. I want anyone who reads this comment to send it to a teacher, to a friend. It's like a coal burning in a fire, all together we create so much heat, but alone we burn out in seconds. So please, take five minuets out of your day to share this. As someone who has to fight everyday not to cut myself this could change so much. Stress impacts those thoughts so much. I do think that we need to be challenged and that we need to learn to deal with stress, but that's life. The school board is taking to many things and trying to cram it into us. There is so much we could do just by clicking the share button. All it takes is one person. "You must be the change you which to see in the world" Ghandi. (Sorry if I spelled his name wrong). But Prince Ea, if your reading this, it has changed my life and so many people that I know to help us be better and stand up to the school for what we believe is right.

I wish sometimes that you got to choose what you would want in life instead of school. I mean school pretty much controls my life and I can't fight back or there is a punishment. Oh but at least I know the correct punctuation and independent and dependent variables! So instead of sleeping we all learn about stuff that we will never need after school! Your comment was so inspiring and I wish you the best of luck!

I'm a retired art teacher. You are right. Children learn through play, solving their own problems. Teachers need to be observers who help students set their own goals based on their needs. 5hey should learn there are consequences to choices. There should be room for mistake making called trial and error. Keep it fun and engaging and self rewarding. Good evaluation comes from sensible self evaluation that encourages self reflection of students own goals.

Everyone listen: Life is short. We spend about 15 or more years of our life going to school learning things most people are not interested in. I could think about 20 thing I would love to learn about and come to the conclusion that school teaches noting i'm interested in and I'm not hating on anyone that loves science or math or gym or any school subject if you want to go to school because you enjoy it by all mean go a head do what you love doing, but if youir like me and don't find anything about school interesting well then keep reading. I am trying to convince my parent to let me stay home and not go to a regular highschool (i'm 15) I want to take cooking classes, I want to learn more about babies, i love nature, I love sign language, spanish and so much more. At my school and many other catholic school in canada where I live they don't teach thing like this. I want to be able to explore this world by doing the things I love, I mean were only here for a short period of times so why not learn and explore the thing we'd like to klearn about. Are world right now is defenitly not perfect and so many thing has happend in 2020 and I don't want to spend my life wasting my time on knowlege I don't need. I've asked everyone in my family if they use any information that they've learned in highschool they all said no. That is to prove we are wasting our time or life etc. Anyone stand with me.

I normally dont give my age (cus of bullies and stuff) im 13 im interested at coding and cooking. I am good at cooking and learning how to code via the internet. School never supported me on these things. I became depressed because of my math and science teacher. I became happy by playing video games and learning more cooking recipes. But nearly all of my teachers say to my parents you should restrict internet use time. Luckily my parents dont cus they know about me but it still makes me sad. Also some people on my school bullies me and some of my friends because of my voice is like a 7 year old and no one in the school helps me about that(expect my friends). It becomes worse and worse when the time goes on. I even had suicidal thoughts. But quarantine really helped me. No school=no bullies and i had a lot of time so i could do what i liked. The point i want to make is school usually doesnt supports things you like. And it gaves a lot of people depression and anxeity. It doesnt educate it wants you to memorize everyting and that sucks. At least it should give us a lesson about mental health. Edit: Now i wish this was a normal comment i wrote so long.
