I still think Amber is one of the best fictional characters in a kid's show. She is iconic, obviously, but she also doesn't completely change. She still loves her appearance, she still prefers the finer things in life, but as the show goes on her development doesn't entirely erase her character, just makes her more open-minded and a better version of herself.

That's exactly what I love about this show. It understood its characters and respected them, ESPECIALLY when compared to other shows that take away the iconic vibes out of characters like Amber the moment they get character development. Look at Regina Mills. Look at Riku ! Look how they massacred my queen and my boy !

I used to hate Amber sm because the way she treated Sofia in the first season but when she changed and became a better sister figure I started to love her sm, best character development ever❤❤

I'm agreed Take "When You With Upon a Well" as example, maybe she did turn Sofia into a Cat because her jealously, but that was an accident, and with the song she sings, Is clearly saw that she was feeling very bad about turning her sister into a Cat, Learning a valious lesson of being careful for what she wishes for I love Amber Plus, she's very funny with her drama moments 😂

In a way they both helped each other. Amber helped Sofia adjust to being a princess, and Sofia helped Amber develop as a person

Even after she reformed in the pilot movie there were still moments in the show where I still couldn't stand her like in the scrambles pets episode where she Vivian and James talk Sofia into bringing their pets to school so they could have a bigger playground to play on even though it's against the rules but when they do their pets run off and spill a mixing potion on themselves. Each time Sofia complains about the situation because knew it was a bad idea amber firmly retorts that her sister shouldn't blame her because no one made her bring clover while that may be true as one of the episodes morals is that peer pressure is no excuse for breaking the rules I still say the way she said it was in a smug and teasing way. She was even onboard with having James take all the blame himself when he volunteered despite it not being all his fault so it seems despite it being her idea she wouldn't have been willing to take all the blame herself either or for being a bad influence on her new sister which is why I'm glad amber's character developed even more throughout the show specifically after the curse of Princess ivy which took place after that episode where she tried to do all she could to make things up to her sister after stealing her amulet.

Honestly she was such a strong character by season 4, the ending with her and Sofia was so sweet. Giving zuko vibes in the sense that she was an antagonist, then helps save the day and ends up being a fan favorite lol. I would love a spin-off show with her as the main character.
