Sheesh, they just threw Curdie into a cell! That's some top-class medical treatment. Or maybe it was just a room. I mean, castles usually aren't the most comfortable of lodgings. One of the goblins looked like Shrek...or maybe Shrek's cousin. It was a green one that was pulling rocks away so they could get into the castle cellar.

Two possible ways. Either he snuck under and around that little rocker that moved while Irene and Curdy were talking, OR he went through that other door to the left of the one Curdy opened because the princess's room had 2 doors to it for some reason. But good question! It's not entirely clear.
