As for covering the cost of the royals attending, The Sovereign Grant costs each citizen £1.29 ($1.63 American) Don't know what the security costs because that (I think) is not revealed. My U. S. Princess Catherine can be often seen around Kensington and Windsor area supermarkets doing grocery shopping with her kids or sometimes on her own. All the the security if only one person. She is so much loved, actually the people around her are her security. They don't interfere with her shopping except to say good morning or afternoon. Also Princess Catherine always wait in the queue to pay up. Never ask for special treatment nor she expect it. A true lady. On the other hand, at the time of megxit and staying at perry's house, every time megan go shopping, the store has to be closed for public, no serving staff can stay in the store except the manager. She gets her stuff, never pay, but ask the store to deliver the goods and she will pay then. Always rude to the delivery people and haggle for the payment. Now that people are ignoring her full time, no store in mshito is dancing to her tune but ignore her demands.
