I’m only 34 minutes into the video and it’s so true; the world expects people to put on a mask of I’m ok. We are scared to show our authentic selves for fear of judgement. Kate needs to take all of the time to recover, without people making $ off speculation about her. There’s no amount of $ on earth to compensate me for being a working Royal. The media/people are so invasive! We don’t allow them any of the privacy we take for granted!! I agree Amanda people with depression, everything feels empty and the negative seems magnified and unending! I have battled clinical depression several times. It’s a challenge to find a hobby or something that gives meaning to life. For me being in nature and gardening is very healing. Your advice of not being forced prematurely back into service and taking the summer off to spend in the garden is very sound advice. It applies to everyone not just Kate.

Let me say, No person going through operations and Chemotherapy would want to go out. I speak from the experience . Let her recuperate fully however long it takes. We all honour the healing process. I applaud her, she is one extremely strong lady. Never forget Catherine came from a Middle class family, and to learn and to establish herself into the Royal family takes a huge strength of character. We respect her hugely. We are all praying for her return to good health.

I think we have forgotten that convalescence was taken seriously not so long ago. Rest, nourishment, fresh air and NO ADDED STRESS. I think we need to relearn and normalise caring for our health. Maybe this can be used as an example when Kate flourishes again.

So true. When I was young, even when I started nursing in the 1960s in England, convalesecent homes or Cottage Hospitals where people could spend two or three weeks recovering after hospitalization/surgery/whatever, was considered the norm. Gradually - probably some politician's answer to cost-cutting - those facilities disappeared and people were sent home to cope on their own. NOT a good idea.

As a caregiver for 2 close family members who fought cancer and lost (diagnosed to late) I say this. When a person is going through chemotherapy treatment their immune system is very low so cannot fight off germs, it is very important for that person to be at home in a safe environment. With evrryone drenched from a typical Florida afternoon 5 minute downpour of rain, we noticed a small group approaching us (we were told by staff of their presence) and to our disbelief it was them. As they gott closer we stopped and said hello. Princess Di also stopped and we got to speak with her. She was so warm, friendly , down to earth that I felt like I was talking to a friend or neighbor. She was absolutely beautiful with an unbelievably gorgeous smile, even though like everyone else she was soaking wet! People can say what they wish, but there WAS something VERY special about Princess Di. You could just feel it. William's mother will be by his side as he ascends to the throne. Kate, although i have not met her, has a brilliance that shines from within, similar to her mother-in-law. She has NOTHING to fear. It is her OWN genuine love in her heart that she shares with the world. And the world sends her thoughts and prayers and IT'S love to her to help her heal. I have a very positive feeling in regard to tge relationship between her and William. I seevit fullnof love, gratitude, respect and devotion. Many blessings.

Throughout our history of Monarchy it’s pretty amazing how our female Queens have all been strong, productive and fair Monarchs. One of my reasons to hope they’ve watched this video is your reference to Queen Victoria’s absence for a few years, after the loss of her husband Albert. Victoria had no option but to take care of herself first after losing her husband; his loss sent her into a deep dive depression. But when she re-emerged, energised and ready, she achieved much. I hope Kate is true to herself, and does likewise, doing what is right for her. She will be a productive and healthy person if she puts her needs first at this time. The Monarchy has made a little effort to change with the times, but they have very far to go. For instance, senior Royals aren’t robots, like us they need time away from the public eye, and regular weekly time off is needed. Media must back off and stop the intense intrusion into the Royals lives. A plain example of the intense diaries they keep is before us with Kate - it’s too much to expect of anyone. William and Kate have a young family- we all know how quickly our children grow up and move on; the children, like children everywhere, need their parents around. Love love love this video! It reminded me of one of my readings. Really shows the nitty-gritty truths of some of the difficulties Kate and William are going through right now. But also the cards give guidance for how to lift up out of the darkness. I relate to the reference of the dark night of the soul. I feel like I’m just emerging from mine too.
