Watching this interview I felt Diana had alot of pain inside her and this helped her release it. You could sense her emotions and the sadness like she was on the verge of tears. I admire her for doing this interview and being so strong to tell her side of the story. I admire her as a great human being and she will forever be the people's princess.

I will always admire Diana, with respect. She was so loved. I believe she entered the highest realm in HEAVEN. May she rest in peace and be able to help both of her sons with a devine intervention. I really do miss her.

@JoanMorrison-vq2jc I agree with most of what you wrote. Diana definitely had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood. ~~~~~ Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Sir John Batten, the queen's physician, believed Diana had borderline personality disorder (BPD). She had many of the traits and symptoms of BPD. There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health.

Joan, Diana was diagnosed with insomnia in 1983. Long-term lack of sleep and prolonged use of sleeping pills promoted irrational thinking. Diana was increasingly paranoid and believed in conspiracies. Diana accused Charles of having an affair with Tiggy Legge-Bourke, and it wasn't true. Harry referred to Tiggy as a nanny. Tiggy was an assistant to Charles at Highgrove from 1993 to 1999. By 1992, the boys were in boarding school all week and spent alternating weekends with Diana and Charles. In other words, the boys spent approximately two weekends a month at Highgrove with Charles and Tiggy. The boys no longer needed nannies. ~~~~ Diana damaged Tiggy's reputation and Tiggy sued. Tiggy was awarded 200,000 pounds.

@@karlamccullough5319 Thank you for the replies. I'm so impressed with your posts. I also wondered about Diana's mental health. Whenever it was brought up close staff members and family and friends denied it very quickly. If these people didn't see it then they didn't help Diana 😔. I also think that Diana ENJOYED the harm she was doing to others. So it makes me wonder where Diana drew the line? Same thing for Megan Markle and Harry's reasoning. So often there are sad and horrible crimes being blamed on people "coming from difficult home lives" and I have to admit that I understand these people from hard home lives. However there are people who just can't get it under control. Diana left a trail of victims and broken relationships ( me too at times so I try to get it together) but Diana never stopped to get it under control and analyze herself....

@JoanMorrison-vq2jc Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia, her threats to harm herself to get attention, and her unwillingness to get the professional help she needed. Diana said she believed she should be able to sort herself out. She was eventually treated for depression and bulimia. To her credit, Diana publicly talked about her unhappy childhood and struggles with depression and bulimia. Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders. Her other emotional anxiety problems went untreated

She was very brave to talk about her eating disorder. It was a different time and I remember her openness was shocking. Bulimia wasn’t understood like it is today. @funtimefranky Diana died as the result of a car accident. It was thoroughly investigated several times. First by the French and there was a British inquest in the 2008. All investigations concluded Henri Paul, their chauffeur, caused the accident. ~~~~~ A number of poor decisions contributed to Diana's death. Henri and Dodi planned the departure from the Ritz. Nobody else knew when they were leaving and the route they were taking. Sneaking out the back door and speeding away prompted the paparazzi to chase them. A brief photo session before leaving would have avoided the chase. If Diana wore her seatbelt she would have had a 80% chance of survival. If Diana had not turned down the protection services offered in the divorce they would have had a professional chauffeur instead of an intoxicated employee from the Ritz hotel. ~~~~~ The royal family was very protective of the boys and would never have put them through the trauma of losing their mother.

Well it is obvious she was unstable. She had problems long before she married Charles. They were pushed into that unholy alliance. She was a very needy girl and was treacherous trying to bring him down and blaming him for not being able help her when he had his own issues. It was the fault of both her family and the royal family. The blame lies firmly on their shoulders enforcing this arrangement as that was all it was. An arrangement.
@user-bl3vf9nl9y
@user-bl3vf9nl9y Ай бұрын
Unstable is a loaded word. Wouldn't you be suffering too if the media were hounding you outside your door every day and hour? She got pregnant fast and had to travel to a scorching hot climate with a young baby. When she fainted in the outback, Charles got angry and told her to 'pull herself together'. That's not neediness on her part. That's emotional abuse by her spouse.

@@user-bl3vf9nl9y Maybe you can pull yourself together and permit people to express themselves. Diana was enormously unstable and abusive towards Charles behind the palace doors. You might want to remember this woman threw herself down a flight of stairs while she was pregnant!!! According to one article I read Diana really didn't do this - she draped herself across the last step so it appeared that she threw herself down! What a horrible mother and wife! Would you want your spouse to write a book about you?

Diana said what she wanted people to believe and it wasn't fully truthful. Diana intended to undermine Charles and destroy his reputation with her BBC Panorama interview. Diana was angry because Charles's 1994 confusion that his marriage was irretrievably broken down and that's when he renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla added credibility to the tabloid reports of her affairs. Adding more credibility to the tabloid reports was James Hewitt's first book about their affair. His book was published in 1994. In her effort to destroy Charles she risked damaging the monarchy and William's future. Her BBC Panorama interview was an example of Diana's disrespect and disloyalty to the monarchy. By 1995, Diana's reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. Diana was labeled a home wrecker in the tabloids. I suspect Diana blamed Camilla for the problems in the marriage to divert attention away from her affairs. Why blame Camilla in 1995? Diana and Charles informally separated almost ten years earlier in 1986. Officially separated in 1992, 3 years before the BBC Panorama interview. ~~~~ Diana and Charles informally separated after Charles discovered Diana was involved and in love with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee in 1985-1986. Charles renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla after ending his intimate relationship with Diana. Diana admitted Charles was faithful until 1986. Diana had EIGHT or more affairs before the divorce was final. FOUR of her affairs were with married men. Diana was the adulterous mistress in Barry Mannakee, Juan Carlos, Oliver Hoare, and Will Carling's marriages. Diana knowingly hurt other women. She was not a Saint. NONE of Diana's affairs were successful long-term relationships. She had difficulty establishing and sustaining personal relationships including her relationship with Charles and her family. She was often at odds with her family. ~~~~ Diana's BBC Panorama interview prompted the queen to request the divorce. Diana was fired (divorced) from her position in the royal hierarchical organization for being disrespectful and disloyal to the monarchy.

@@karlamccullough5319 Excellent! You got every detail on target! I also think Diana USED Charles. According to her family and friends Diana wanted to be princess of Wales since her childhood. This 19 year old knew what she was doing. Where was the public out-cry back in 1981 when she was becoming a wife at 20? 1981 was modern times. She wanted a title and castles and balcony appearances and clothes and jewelry and vacations and notoriety and prestige and financial stability and handbags and respect and admiration and press coverage and... Diana wouldn't have looked at Charles twice if he was a butcher or a baker or a candle stick maker. She loved hiking and hunting and fishing etc at Balmoral before they married after the wedding she confessed to hating Balmoral! Her own mother warned Diana about not getting into the royal family and thought Diana was unfit for the position. Diana gave up all her charities and just went on vacation. Vacation from what? Diana may have loved her sons but she was a bad influence on them. Diana would tell her children, " you can do anything you want just don't get caught." No! No you cannot do anything you want!! I think Diana took her own advice unfortunately. Diana told her staff member Mr Jephson that she wanted to become FIRST LADY of the US!! Her fantasy was to meet a single senator or governor and marry him and campaign for him and after he wins she would return to Buckingham Palace for a state banquet so she could "look the queen right in the eye"! WHAT? Diana also wanted to be a peace mediator for Ireland when the Catholics and Protestants were fighting. This woman had some imagination!! Diana also said that the royal family wanted to kill her and then kill Camilla so that the queen could have Charles marry Tiggy Legg Bourke - William and Harry's nanny! Diana was very jealous of Tiggy because William and Harry loved Tiggy so much! Tiggy was not in love with Charles. Diana was emotionally unstable!!
