I remember that day. She had just turned 20 when she married Prince Charles. I had just turned 15 that year. It was a beautiful wedding. I could not believe that train on her gown; a 25 foot long train? I remember telling my mother "don't want a train that long, Mom". I developed an admiration for Diana as the years went by during her marriage to Prince Charles. I still have that admiration for her; it still shines through especially with Prince William and his charity work. He's his mother's son.

Apparently the train was Diana's idea. I saw a tv interview with the Emmanuels where they said that when discussing possible designs with Diana, that Diana commented that she'd read somewhere that the longest royal bride's train previously was Princess Alexandra at 19 feet and went "Right, it's got to be longer than that!" The Emmanuels tried to dissuade her but Diana had her mind made up. I don't know why - perhaps she was nervous and overdid it?

I can remember watching this live on TV with my family. The whole nation was so happy for the young couple...it seemed like a fairytale wedding...Diana, the beautiful, innocent young bride and her Prince. We were all so hopeful for their future. Little did we know that Charles wasn't in love with Diana but instead was having an affair with a married woman, camilla Parker Bowles whom he had spent the night before his marraige with, without Diana's knowledge. Charles refused to give up camilla throughout his marriage and his cruel betrayl broke Diana's heart. As Diana later recalled, she was a "lamb to the slaughter" as she walked up the Isle on her wedding day. We still miss our beautiful Diana to this day. She really was the "Queen of our hearts". No one can ever replace her who was uniquely beautiful, inside and out. R.I.P Diana❤

But she was very very reluctant to get married..
