Princess of Wales Opens New Life-Changing Unit at Children's Hospital

The Princess of Wales has opened the new Children’s Day Surgery Unit at Evelina London Children's Hospital. The new facility will transform care for children and young people needing surgery at the centre and will provide them with everything they need in one place. The Princess has visited the hospital before, having been a patron since 2018. Report by Louise Kennedy.

I hosted a delegation of health workers/providers from S America at a newly opened major children's hospital many years ago. I can tell you that this experience is fixed in my memory from the children, their parents, the delegation and the staff. Katherine PoW and other royals (including Diana PoW) have experiences that few of us see with the frail, aged, disabled, critically ill and dying. These are not 30 sec photo ops in car parks. This is genuine support which give enormous comfort and strength to all. You cannot fake it and it takes strength and courage. My respects.
