The setting of the anime is actually in Nördlingen, Germany, and ballet is of Italian, French, and Russian background. Anime don't always have to be centered in Japan but I see where one could get confused. :D

this was one of the first animes I've watched, and part of the reason I love it so much is because I am a dancer myself, and I can relate to some of their problems. Now seven years later, I can do some of princess Tutu's dances, not en pointe, but I'm getting there.

I love PT so much, i don't remember how many time i cried because Ahiru didn't get Mytho, but i don't care anymore i just cry when the part Ahiru and Fankir were dancing together. The most beautiful part ever :) never get tire of PT love it so much

I remember never finishing this as a kid cause it started getting a little to depressing for my 8 yo self. Was so stressed and worried if the Prince would actually get his heart back with Kraehe getting in the way. Luckily I plan on watching again now (to the end this time) cause of how beautiful I also remember it being☺️

This and Ponyo was one of the 1st animes I introduced my son to. I had never watched it previously (before screening it for him) but the whole series creates so much of a nostalgic and longing feeling. I love shows that can do that.
