RIP Captain Stubing! What great memories. I loved watching The Muppet Show, The Love Boat, then Fantasy Island on Saturday nights when I was a kid. I loved this show so much I went to college to study Travel and Tourism, with plans to be a cruise director like Julie McCoy! That didn’t end up panning out, but I love going on cruises still! 🛳😊❤

We were on that 50th anniversary cruise on the Pacific Princess in 2015 (source of some of these clips.) The entire cast was wonderful to all of us passengers but none more so than Gavin McLeod. How sad he's gone.

Love boat is the entire reason o started cruising ❤️ we started with Ruby Princess and have taken 7 more cruises. Only one was a different company and we went straight back to Princess and here is where we’ll stay. Can’t wait for our next one!! 💕💕

It's very rare for an actor to be on a hit show but it would seem impossible to be on two back to back. Gavin had the incredible luck to go from the Mary Tyler Moore show to the Love Boat. RIP Gavin Macleod

Don, i loved Gavin Macleod ,My wife and i travelled on the Sea Princes and loved it We would watch the daily eposide while on the ship, i can remember when the love boat came to Sydney and a eposide was filmed here. Don i am booked on the coral Princes which is going to Hawaii and back and if youwant to come down under, i would love to give you the hand of friendship and i could show you around, also do you realise on of Gavin Macleod,s first roles was as happy in McHales navy

My wife and I just happened to be on the Regal Princess’ official naming celebration and the 50th anniversary celebration of Princess cruises. It was really cool seeing some of the same footage I captured with Gavin and the original cast. Great memories.

I was the senior second purser on the 50th anniversary cruise. I would have worked for free! He is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I have met a lot of people. He makes you feel special and that you are a star! He will always be my favourite captain and the Pacific Princess will always be my favourite ship. I cried when I heard about him!
