I see people making comments on how they want Ariel’s hair more red and how she should be wearing the purple bra. WELL. I think most productions over do it with the red hair and don’t wear the shells. Some girls don’t want to wear something that will only cover their chest. I’ve been there, I had to fight my teacher on wearing the bra. I wasn’t comfortable wearing something like that in front of a bunch of people. And with the hair 1) wigs suck 2)her hair looks natural which is like the broadway version too so I love it. It makes her character seem like a human and relatable.... but yeah besides that GREAT SHOW LOL

What I did when I was Ariel was wear a tan tank top and then have the shell bra thing. I’m lucky because I’m a natural redhead so I didn’t have to wear a wig. 😅 her hair is really beautiful, she definitely doesnt need a wig.

I’m from a third world country, and in my high school things like social clubs (in particular drama/play/musical clubs) are practically non existent. I only stumbled upon this video while I was searching “good acting” to prepare for the first play in my school. Honestly, I think I still have a long way to go, judging how professional and impressive the guys in this video are, despite being amateur actors. this production of “the little mermaid” by princeton high school is another addition to the vast amount schools that have adapted this show. princeton high school’s theatre production offers audiences a fun and lovely experience. the leads provide nice and consistent voices and decent acting chops. the production’s success is due to all the casts great work and especially the actor for prince eric who shines here. the set enhances the show but the costumes takes the spotlight. the great costumes are truly shown in ursula’s dress and the underwater sea creatures. unfortunately the same can’t be said for ariel and her sister’s costumes. i wish that ariel’s costume stood out more and the sister’s costumes could all have more significant differences in their design for each character. a highlight in the show is the two leads themselves (ariel and eric). they both portray the slightly awkward but cute interactions the characters have with each other very well, especially with the actor for eric and his charisma when ariel can’t speak. their version of the number “one step closer” is another great scene. princeton high school theatre production of “the little mermaid” is a sight you don’t want to miss!

She really felt and displayed the true emotions of her character considering the circumstances in the play. May I also inform you that was the understudy for Ursula, so Aquata’s actress isn’t actually all that special :/

I strongly disagree. Ursula's role is far more interesting and CHALLENGING might I add than Ariel's. Ariel is a thin character, a typical disney princess. For Ursula's role to be played properly, it requires a deeper understanding of her upbringing and backstory. It is far more complicated than Ariel's. Thus, her part is more challenging. In addition, the vocal score for Ursula is more difficult and requires a higher ability of acting than that of Ariels. So, just because Ariel's role is technically "bigger", Ursula's role is far more complicated and difficult to perform properly. One must not discredit the actress who played Andrina because she is very good at what she does and can handle very difficult and complex characters such as Ursula, although I'm sure the actress who played Aquata is great too.

I was apart of the musical pit at Mira mesa High School and loved this musical, especially each characters special moments. I just felt like some of the dialog was rushed, and the songs like 'Her Voice,' 'Sweet Child,' 'Wildest Dreams,' 'One step Vloser' and 'If only (Quartet)' was not used to its full potential, if they were just a little bit slower it would have made the audience more in love with the characters.
