I like Carti, but even as someone who likes him I don’t fully understand his cult like appeal. The opium fanbase really annoys me with how they see this man as a god despite him not dropping much, (and what has dropped isn’t overly incredible. It’s just decent music) his lying, and everything in between. I just don’t believe that what he’s done as far as music warrants the overly obsessive nature of his stans. One of the biggest reasons I like Carti is mainly because I see he has potential to do more with his music. Only question is, will he realize that potential someday, and make an album that proves it? Instead of trolling about albums dropping, and abandoning rollouts, I wish he took his artistry as serious as someone like a Travis does when it comes to making projects. I love the aesthetic (although it’s not new, that annoys me too how people pretend he pioneered it) and some of the music. He could just be doing more. Instead, he’s wasting time.
