True they shouldn't have caved under the pressure from outside groups to change her but the real blame lies with those idiots who think shes meant to be a joke about the mentally handicapped rather than, as you stated, a statement meant to show that no matter who you are you can be loved and accepted by society as more than just a handicapped person. These people are everywhere and they are so bullheaded you can't convince them that they are wrong. But I digress, as unfortunate as it is to say they will always exist and always try to ruin things for other people based upon their own self-righteousness and shallow perception.

I cry when evr I see these kinds of videos. because it shows that this world can be cruel no matter how bad we want it to be peaceful. I'm sure you can understand this. are words can help them change their minds we just need a great number of people to help. cause this is just as bad as bullying that goes on in schools in life in general. sly the hedgewolf Sorry to say there are people even more ignorant than the ones who hate Derpy, many of which have more power too. But staying on topic. We face an uphill battle unfortunately. It is true that with enough support, and proof of it say a petition of sorts, that we could negate what has been done, but we find ourselves in the difficult position of dealing with people who don't exactly want to play fair. Had they the least bit of civility in them they would have simply let the matter go after having a reasonable discussion about it and educating themselves on the matter. Instead we are dealing with self-righteous fools with a half-baked ideology that simply want their way no matter what. Much to our misfortune they are in a position where the law can be exploited to their advantage. All it takes is a few threats of filling a lawsuit against Hasbro and the company is going to roll over and give into their demands. Even if they don't have evidence to win the case Hasbro doesn't want to waste money going to court over something like this. To them its much easier just to edit out poor Derpy than to waste time and money fighting it out in court. Though I can say whoever was in charge of the initial changes at least tried to keep fans of the show in mind by refusing to completely remove her. What you need to understand is that these people are fanatical and not simple to deal with. Its the same as those insane groups the target video games for being "to violent" or the how "TV corrupts children" or countless other examples of their stupidity. It never fails. When something new comes along that people adore there is some group that festers in the shadows trying to find a way to break it down. Why? I can't really answer that but my guess is out of spite. They can't find a way to enjoy it so no one will.

I think they could handle a law suit and we could back them up on their charges. ...I'm sorry its just so frustrating that they could do this. derpy is one pony I love and it hurts so much that they have to do this. and every video I see of that subject makes me wish I can do something but I can't I feel like snowdrop when all seemed hopeless. even with the broy's numbers we can't do anything. I dedicate every muffin I eat to her now. and I try to remember every episode she was in. Getting back in the fandom after a long time and this song just pierces my heart with a hundred needles. On some levels this song reminds me of my early childhood before I got diagnosed, having my parents constantly scolding me to behave normally and I was just standing there with tears in my eyes like ”what did I do wrong?? I’m always like this” Years later and instead of sad and scared I’m getting mad as a hatter. I am so done with apologizing for everything people disapproves about me and for letting them try to correct me. I’ve put my foot down! I’m almost 20 years old, and in case they haven’t noticed, I won’t be changing half of my personality anytime soon, and especially not to appease someone else. If they don’t like me, FINE, then don’t stick around! If they want me to be happy then at the very least try to compromise with me if I’m being such a general nuisance! I’m not being impossible, but they’ve gotta give me room to work with, if I want to work on it in the first place! Congrats if you made it this far, I hope you have an awesome day/noon/evening.

This song is the reason why I like MLP. If it wasn't for this song, I would probably be a hater, because that's what I used to be (please no-one disown me from the fandom for this XP). Then I realised there was no need to hate and everyone could pretty fine if we ignored each other. I wouldn't say anything nice to bronies, but I didn't say anything nasty either. Then came the morning where I was just browsing the web as I usually do, watching Spyro animations, then there was the one animation that stood out. It was called 'between fairytails and happy endings' (a pun on the name of this song) and it was about Skylanders Spyro hate and how he must feel. I really loved the music that went with it because it fit him so well, almost like it was made about him. Only there was one thing. There was a part missing, a word, at the end of 'but no happy ending for this-' (I now know it says 'mare', which wouldn't make sense in a song about Spyro). There was a link in the description to the original song, so I followed it to this song. I was surprised to see it was about a pony! But it was a beautiful song, and I soon learnt about this pony and what the song was about. Later on that morning my sister woke up and came to see me and asked if we could play the pony game (which was a horse dress-up game on girlsgogames that she liked to go on), but I said to her "why don't we play a different pony game today?" I then found an MLP pony maker, on which I made what would become my Ponysona Scorch (not Wolfie, as she is actually a werewolf). From that moment, everything changed for the better. +Death by Proxy The best part is that most "haters" haven't even watched the show. I've seen so many people actually use that as a reason to hate it. "I can hate it if I don't watch it. If I watched it, I would like it, and wouldn't hate it. Duh." Like...what? If you're going to hate something, at least watch it first so you know why to hate it. I don't watch MLP. I made sure to watch about 10-12 episodes before judging it. And it's not a bad show. I like it..as a general show. But it didn't seem to have a huge plot and story. Princess Celestia the Goddess I can I used to be a popular kid in school and I never had a conflict until second grade when I moved when I was bullied and attacked and no one did a thing about it my parents tried but no one helped me I had no friends and I still don't and I don't trust anyone anymore now I hate this feeling I hate it hate it hate it! But I guess they are also right I made their lives miserable by being around they were so happy when we first met but then everyone got upset and all I could do was pretend to be happy and try to make others happy too. Well everyone has an Opinon my like of Derpy started when i saw how her Derp eyes made her more adoreble than others. then i saw comics about her and i loved her more and more, untill i saw a characher rather than a background pony(compared to AppelJack hehehe "shots fired").

I think it is because it was something that fans created in some way. After all, she was just a simple animation error until they decided to grant her a personality, a story, friends... Then they got exited when she started reappearing in the background, more and more active until she received a true role in the show as a character that interacted with one the mane six. Everybody had her as their own... child, kinda. Anyway, when she was threatened to disappear the Pandora Box was opened and everyone rised to defend their character. It was a symbol of connection between the fans and the creations, and the mere idea of breaking such bond enraged a great proportion of the fandom. I didn´t really got that angry, but I really dislike the idea of her being erased because of being a "dumb character". I don´t see anyone having a problem with Billy from Billy and Mandy, Patrick from Spongebob, Homer Simpson, ect, and they all sound like idiots. It´s kinda hypocritical. Anyway, that´s what I think.

+Thomas Druce I think it's funny that most "haters" haven't even watched the show. I've seen people use that as an excuse for why they're allowed to hate it. "I don't watch it, so I can hate it if I want. If I watched it, that means I like it." I don't watch MLP. I don't hate it though. I feel that, to judge something, you should check it out first. So I sat and watched 10 or so episodes. There didn't seem to be a huge story. That's the only reason I didn't keep watching. It was a decent show otherwise. But I need some kind of overall plot and story to keep me interested. Partly why I enjoy Steven Universe so much. And before you ask, I'm here because I was looking up MLP drawing stuff. I'm trying to learn to draw 'em since my friends like it and stuff. Happened to come across these songs, and they're not bad, even for someone that doesn't watch the show.

Honestly the parts talking about changing me really spoke out to me on an emotional level. I have always been different and as a result my family chose to try to change who i am. They attempted to force me down the same path as my brother (and i ended up being the total opposite and hating all the things i was forced into. If you are going to be a parent learn this lesson and do not go to the extreme of forcing your children to do something they do not like.) While i remained who i am my relationship with several family members is forever scared by those awful experiences. I feel like this song really speaks for me though. I remember asking why it was wrong to be different. It is VERY rarely music really touches me like that. You get a like, sub, and pretty much every form of share i can possible give.

I was banished from a significant part of my family for being quirky and different. Intellect was a factor as they were all high school dropouts related to my brother's wife and I'm aspiring to get a doctorate and even in high school i knew much more than them. I always sought to inform and teach them but they took it as if i looked down on them and refused to conform to a black and white lifestyle. It resulted in an arguement and i have not spoken to them in 5 years because they told me to leave them alone. This song makes me feel better about that because at least i can be at peace for being different. It was them who failed to accept me all along.
