Ever since you sang "Great to be different" I was proud to call myself a brony, throughout the bullying and torment of high school. I had friends then who were bronies. Not anymore, they seemed to slip away and I had such fears that the brony fandom would slip away. But seeing all of you artists so zealous has given me a second wind. Throughout thick and thin, I'm sticking with the herd.

We've all heard the talk surrounding the debate of whether or not the fandom is dying. I don't know if it will ever die off completely, but it is definitely getting smaller, and some of our best years may well be behind us. As many of you know, during the closing ceremonies at Bronycon this year, they announced that next year will be the last Bronycon. I know that there are other pony conventions, and that there is far more to the fandom than just the conventions, so while that may be an unfortunate game CHANGER, it isn't, in and of itself, a game ENDER. However, for me, I feel like the convention ending isn't the problem, but is instead a symptom of the greater underlying issue, that of course being the "fading out" of the fandom. This song pretty much sums up my thoughts as I watched the Baltimore Convention Center fade off into the distance during my cab ride back to the airport a few short months ago. There are too many parallels here with the struggles of life, such as the loss of one's youth as we move into the gray monotony of the "real world", or the inevitable death of a loved one with a terminal illness. I find it difficult, when speaking to non-Brony friends and family, to put into words the depth and complexity of this feeling of approaching emptiness. Perhaps we as Bronies were foolish to put so much emphasis, so much meaning and self-worth and understanding onto a show. Then again, maybe we are to be applauded for having the courage to allow ourselves to be vulnerable in the very same way. As we go through life, family, friends, lovers, jobs, fads, relationships and experiences of every kind, all come and go, and I think that's what makes them all the more powerful. After all, how much less value would life have if not for death? As we go about life, clinging to the memories we hold so dearly, we have to keep in mind the finite nature of all things, and strive that much more to actively cherish every moment, taking nothing for granted. We know all too well that this is/was so much more than a show, it is a family, and as such, we have to be able to come to terms with the reality that one by one, parts of a family will fade away. BUT, like a family, the love and memories we share of that which has come to pass will remain with us until our dying breath. So as we each move on with our respective lives, we take a piece of that family with us, and share it, in one form or another, with those around us. The show will move on, and maybe, one day, end. Likewise, the conventions will end, the art, music, video content, fanfics, etc. will fade out, and the community will slow to an effective halt, but all is not lost, as we will always have that which has already been created and shared. Through it all, the memories will remain, and we will be better, stronger, happier people because of them. In the end, while the content may cease, the memories, feelings, and devotion that we have for this family will live on forever, and it is for these reasons that I can say with confidence that I am a proud Brony for life. Don't allow these feelings of emptiness to consume you. Rather, use them to appreciate all that you have, and all that has come to pass. Like the concepts behind guardian angels, or the ghosts of our ancestors, allow the memories of these characters that you've come to know as family to guide you through life, to help carry and comfort you in times of strife, and to find the joy in all things. Use them to lift you up, and drive you forward towards the best you that you can be. Lastly, do what you can to remain optimistic and confident, because as they say, when one door closes, another one opens, and gen 5 is just around the corner. If it's awesome, then yay, high fives and hugs all around. If it isn't, then that's ok, because I know the Brony community can take that lump of clay and mold it into a beautiful masterpiece, just like it did with gen 4. After all, it's like I said, a show is just a show. It takes a community to make it something more, something unique, and something truly special. Thank you all for everything you've done for our little community. I expect great things of all of you moving forward. Take care of yourselves, and take care of each other. This isn't the end, it's just a new chapter, and I for one am excited to see where our next adventure takes us.

It takes something truly special to create such a large fanbase, and those that do are not easily forgotten. Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Minecraft, Star Craft, World of Warcraft, Doctor Who, Marvel, and DC: All things that have become part of the "great" fandoms that are still going strong today, and i feel that it is safe to say that MLP has made it into that group. I look forward to seeing where we go from here and what adventures we have next. (Edit: add Doctor Who, Marvel, DC)

And one thing is for certain; I’ll die as a part of the herd.

8 years....... I was 11 and now I’m 19. Age 12, waking up every morning before I’d go to school just to play “A friend in deed” so I could hear the smile song and tackle the day with a brighter mindset than I otherwise would. People will always have a lot to say about the mlp craze in its time but maybe, likely, I wouldn’t have made it to 19 without this show. I appreciate the people who have stuck around for so long to create the positive aspects of this community and the show that I’ll undoubtedly carry with me for the rest of my life, as it was such a large part of what grew me into the person I am today during my most impressionable time. In ways I wouldn’t change for anything. A show and community that sooo significantly inspired me to sing, draw, create, be kind, and just try to be myself in ways that nothing else could. I want to actually cover some pony songs one day! I’ve waited 7 years too long! Sometimes I wish I could go back and experience the same excitement I did when 11/12 year old me did when I experienced what would change my life for the first time. Seeing fluttershy for the first time and being so in awe with how pretty the characters were, oobviously rainbow dash was the best because she was rainbow duuuuhhh! But I’d soon find out that the message was even more beautiful and the characters were so inspiring to me. (And that pinkie was actually my favorite shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) Aaaaah, how to maintain the mindset of an excited 12 year old girl experiencing what would make her happiest in this life time, especially when it comes to the new things that make her happy. It’s getting difficult to keep up :’) So, of course, thank you for this song. And thank you for the reminder, that there is absolutely nothing I’d trade my time with this show for.

I too noticed the dropping out when I joined in 2014, and that's why I created what I created, and why I do what I do. I want to preserve the history of the entire fandom as is, as it was. So far I've been pretty successful with very few things falling though the cracks past the sands of time and into the depths of darkness. I can't thank my own friends I found along the journey of friendship enough for their help, support and embraces. It was dark times in my own life that drew me in, and I was held in by a friend that never gave up hope for me, and to this day I still talk to them. I will never stop, as pony helped me in life, maybe my efforts will help someone else in their life going through tough times. Thanks for this contribution to the fandom and community as a whole PrinceWhateverer.

I have only been in this fandom for nearly a year, and felt that I have been late to the fandom. It feels strange to be a part of this fandom so long after it went big, but the truth is that we are not late. As Gandalf said, “A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.” We feel as if we joined late, but we joined at the time that we were meant to join, don't let yourself or others tell you otherwise.

That feeling means everything to me, feel like I belong here and that I'm welcome. This fandom has grown into something precious and irreplacable; A Family. I might not be that old of a fan, but looking back, it still feels like it's crazy far. My life is so different now, and all of this because of a horse cartoon show, some addicted people and a lot of love and tolerence. I rarely comment, but this means too much to not do so. I've been feeling this way for a while now, and it means a lot to know that there are others out there that feel the same. I'm graduating from college in a little more than year, and this show and community have been a core part of my identity for what I'd call my "coming of age" years. My world views have been fundamentally shaped by the mythos of the show and its characters. I've been wrestling with the realization that the fandom has long passed its peak, and that no matter how important something is to me, nothing is eternal. (The passing of a few family members over the past two years hasn't helped the matter.) The moment it really set in for me was directly related to the fandom. I happened upon Carbon Maestro's "You'll Play Your Part" instrumental cover. I got exited thinking that he had returned because the original song still felt new to me, Then it occurred to me: that was four fucking years ago. I want to thank you and all the other content creators, because with you, the community would probably be almost non-existent at this point. First ime doing this: Brohoof! /)

I rarely comment on YT, but I wanted to post here even after messaging you on Discord. I can just feel the passion and love oozing from this song. I've been part of this fandom since 2010-2011, although I've been largely "hands-off," in the sense that I only participated minimally. I didn't really go to EQD or post on many sites, I only looked at fanart that was linked to me or interested me, but this was still something SPECIAL and MAGICAL. Even early on I knew it was special, but I had no idea exactly how special it would end up being. Thanks to this show, I have a job and some of the most amazing friends ever possible. This song encapsulates the last 7-8 years of my life for me. When rumors came out of S9 being the final season and G5 rumors, I was honestly crushed and devasted for 2-3 days. Despite my "hands-off" approach to much of the fandom, it's still an important thing for me. But even when the show concludes, those who love the show and these characters will persist and keep this fandom burning bright. This show has changed my life and I intend to carry it all with me until the last of my days when I'm old and grey. I've seen the doom and gloom over the years. Lauren leaving the show; S3 being 13 episodes; Twilicorn; Equestria Girls; Starlight Glimmer; the final Bronycon; S9 being the end; G5. I've seen some shit over the years, BUT WE HAVE SURVIVED AND PERSISTED THROUGH IT ALL. This song perfectly shows that. Thank you for making this. Truly, thank you.

I have long since moved on from MLP and considering myself a Brony and unlike others it never really had much of an impact on me positive or negative cause I never made any friends in the fandom. That being said I feel like people from other fandoms could relate to this song just as much as those this song was meant for. I know for myself personally despite not being in the MLP fandom as a Brony this song was still emotional to me as another fandom have had such an impact on my life and I have made many true meaningful friends in the fandom I'm currently in and have been in for the past three years. So to that I say let the positivity every fandom can offer continue to be great and to all those haters who only point out the bad seeds in the fandom and condemn said fandom because of it you can just move along.

I was invited into this fandom around three years ago now, back in early 2018. At the time I was going through that edgy 13 year old phase, and was drawn in by Bench Thief Productions' animation for your "Destabilize". For a long while before that I had been occasionally watching an episode whenever my little sisters would be watching. I was hesitant to acknowledge that the show was actually good, though inside I knew I did enjoy it. When I clicked on that video, my life was turned in a completely different direction. It was a gradual change, over time I was looking more and more into the treasure trove that was older fandom songs. I immediately took a liking to Woodentoaster and Slyphstorm, and kind of stuck with those two for a while without exploring other artists. Eventually I came back to look at that animation that first showed me that ponies could be cool, and that really kickstarted me in the direction of exploration into the rest of the fandom music. Since then I have grown immensely, and right now I regret not being able to join this lovely fandom earlier. I came too late and grew too slowly to be able to do the things that I now regret not doing. It is one of my greatest wishes to be able to attend a Bronycon or similar pony-themed convention, even if I have to host it myself somehow. I see the fandom fading out and I look back at those who have left us, and it brings a tear to my eye. A tear of regret and unknown nostalgia. A tear of sorrow for those who have gone, but a tear of joy for those who will come. I pray that more will come and uncover the wealth of treasures that we have left behind, excavating and bringing back to light the wondrous works of art that many of us have created. But whether or not I will see a true revival of this fandom within my lifetime, I will stay with the herd 'till the bitter end. In your own words, "I'll die with the herd!" Gallop on, and a brohoof. /)

From the start I was attached to it when my little sister wanted me to watch it with her, she was happy seeing how fun the show was and how she saw it, for me I seen it in a deeper meaning as it was something the world needed, coummunitys being together, people making new friends and the amount of love was made from just this show is unbelievable and even when time went I and me and my sister grow older, she might not have the same feeling as before but still enjoys it. For me I lasted longer into the fandom, even though I stop watching the full show on season 7 it still got me to make new friends and feel welcome. Sad as the show is soon to end, I bet everyone are still in it together with many other people. Thank you Mlp:FiM you sure brought love and friendship to where we need it most.

The fandom may fade a bit as we reach the end of Friendship is Magic, but this particular iteration of MLP has hit the critical point that Transformers did a couple decades ago. There's a clear and present demand that will allow Hasbro to make significant amounts of money by not letting the IP fade into obscurity as it had before Friendship is Magic exploded, so like Transformers we'll see new iterations and new stories that will prevent the fandom from ever actually dying. Not every new series will be good, but there will be things to appreciate even in the ones that aren't as great, and there will be other phenomenal new series. The MLP fandom may go through expansions and contractions, but we've gotten big enough that Hasbro has a vested interest in not allowing the light to die entirely. And this is to say nothing of the incredible artists and musicians and fanfic writers that have come from FiM who will fight to keep the light from guttering. The ponies are here, and they're not going anywhere.

I've seen many songs in the fandom. I've seen you make songs , every one from the Rainbow Dash song all those days ago, all up until Better Tomorrow and this is just beautiful. I've been here since 2014 and this fandom has been the best thing ever for me, even though every one I talk to says to move away. I have been resilient to their demands but I always thought that there was no future once it all passed. Then I found this song, and it reminded me of something ACRacebest once said "When the show ends it will be a dark day, but it will not be the end." So with that I can say from the heart that if this great artist will choose to stay forever, I will do my best to follow. Brony Fandom Forever!

I know one thing... I’ll die with the herd for sure. The Brony community was the best part of my life since summer 2012 and I’m so glad to be a part of this ever-growing fandom. I still have never been to a con but that is on my bucket list for sure. Great song, man!

I totally recommend getting to a convention if you can. There's nothing else like the feeling of looking around, seeing hundreds of other people and knowing that every single one of them *understands*. I know BronyCon is ending after this year, but it's not the only con. You still have time. I hope it works out. :)

I've spent the last day binge watching pony content I remember from back when this fandom was new and controversial, and I found myself asking, "what happened to us?" We fostered this unbelievable world, cared for it, and helped it grow for years and years. People poured their heart and soul into making this fandom the phenomenon it is today. And then people lost contact, creators started disappearing, the pace of creative growth slowed. And it hurts. But this song helped remind me that it will never be over as long as it means as much to all of you as it does to me. Shows come and go, nostalgia is a gift and a curse, but this empire we built is a permanent fixture and I take solace in that. Thank you one and all for what you've done to shape my life. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Hi, I'm an unknown bronish and this is my story. I joined the fandom about 6 years ago, I think. At the time, I was just a lurker who watched the episodes on his own and consumed what others did, without creating nor even interacting with other bronies. Then I met my best friend. He wasn't my best friend at the time, but he slowly become it with the years and all things we did together. It started with me overhearing him wanting to give MLP a try, so I gave him a copy of all the episodes I downloaded. We ended up going to conventions together in multiple countries, doing week-long road trips and just having one another's back. But I digress. Right before I moved to Canada five years ago, I started to mess with Ren'Py and thought of doing a silly visual novel about ponies. The thing went on for a while as I contacted visual artists, had my aforementioned best friend help me with the music, entered a game jam-like with it, watched people do let's plays on it and all. And in the following year, due to other reasons, I entered some sort of depression where I ended up a near total shut-in. Ponies were what gave me hope for the future and helped me have some faith in myself and my abilities. They were the last thing holding me together a bit. When I started to feel better, I slowly got back to square one. My VN entered a hiatus, I did a pony vector drawing or two, but not much more. My consumption of pony-related things slowed down too. I ended up going to conventions once a year, then I ended up skipping last year's, have not added new pony music to any of my playlists in a long while, and... To be honest, am not even up to date with the show anymore, despite having been the kind of brony to watch it live the Saturday. So here I am, commenting on KZbin, with an account I never really used that much, having an avatar that is severely outdated and made with the infamous Pony Creator instead of something I made myself. I haven't considered myself a brony in a while. I never really looked at the things and told myself "this is the end of my ride on the fandom's train", but it sure does look like that at some point I got out of my wagon. Yet this song reminded me so much good memories. I don't know why the KZbin algorithm decided to show it to me, but it was definitely a good thing. I won't get back to watching the show ceremoniously, but for the first time in a long while, it made me look back at the past 6 years. At all the good memories. The bad ones too, but they were uncommon and I don't regret having lived through them. Overcoming difficulties is part of what makes life worth it, it makes you appreciate the good things way more. Plus, it develops your mind and spirit. So, thank you to all of the amazing people related to the show, not only the creators, but also the fans and those in-between. I'm now glad to consider myself a bronish. Not a full-on brony like many of you, but a lighter one, who was there, will be around occasionally and will always be glad to be a part of the family. The main difference is that instead of being the uncle who is around all year around and very present in every family activity, I'm the one living on another continent and occasionally coming home for Christmas. I don't know why anyone would actually read through all this, but if you did, thank you for your time. Keep being awesome and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I honestly can't thank you enough for making this song. I never knew how much I needed it.Long story short I've joined late 2012 but my anxiety and shyness didn't let me comment on a single thing for like 4years. Even though since then I've been trying my best to fight doomposters with positivity it's hard to sometimes not feel bad for the time I've "wasted" just lurking and not contributing. Fortunately just when phrases like "the fandom will collapse" or "your content creators will soon all disappear" started to finally get to me you go ahead and create this song. It's amazing to yet again be certain that no matter what happens next our wonderful little community will endure. Brony for life /)

I don't even know how to begin to explain Bronies and I've been in the fandom since April 2014. I don't think I could possibly give it a good explanation that does it more justice than just simply "Adults who like MLP"

This fandom has so much good music and good ppl, I'd just like that this show could teach that adults still can become friends, that the friendship could still exist after you pass college, that ppl from different ages and cultures can still be friends... Once I was a kid, I used to be easy to make friends, once I was a teen, I had a nice group of friends, we play music and games together... once I become an adult .... I don't actually know what happened, our group break apart, seems adults should give up from friendship, and become isolated and productive machines.... Once we become an adult, if you try to make friends with the young ppl, you are treated like a pedo, if you try to make friends with other adults, or you are considered a scammer, or you will get scammed or worse.... if you try to be friendly in general ... you are weird or weak ... ahhhhh..... I just .... I just wish that we could have some of that magic of friendship alive in this world ..... Congratulations on your great fandom brony community !!! live long and prosper !

Been here myself since 2011 when the community was born. Even if this year is the last season of G4, I'll never stop being a part of it. Unlike furries, sad as it is to say this being one myself, bronies actually stuck to promoting positivity and caring for others in most cases... rather than copying the stupidity and intolerance of nearly all communities today. Job well done, and it's not over yet! Thank you and everyone else who created (and continues creating) great pony content: I found this channel just recently and your songs have given me something very lovely to enjoy at a time when I needed it

Yes. We are in this together. I’m glad I’m in the the fandom for the love of the show; we’ve seen allot of new characters appear and the fandom going crazy over each episode and reviewing it, Twilight getting her wings, the CMC getting their cutiemarks, and everything the show had to offer up. Edit: I’m here after the show had officially ended. G5, here we come. G4, we had some awesome memories and you inspired us all and gave us more than we bargained for. I mean it, I love G4 and will always hold it in my heart forever. It started with a book, and it ended with a book. What a way to end the series. I also ate some chocolate ice cream and I now know that mlp G4 is over. I’ll die with the herd.

WE'RE STILL HERE, THE HERD WILL ALWAYS BE AS LONG AS THERE ARE NEW GENERATIONS THAT WE CAN TEACH THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP TO! The magic isn't just for us, but for our own children eventually, when WE can show them a very special part of our lives, and hope they love it as much as we do. We, like Celestia, can encourage our own "students" to discover the magic of friendship for themselves, and though they'll go through ups and downs much like we did, we'll be there to catch them when they fall, much like Twilight with her own students, and the mane 6 did with each other. The fandom will never truly die, it may wax and wane like the moon, but like the sun, it'll always be there the next morning. ♥
