Thanks for the honest comments on here! When this pathetic story ended, I was at a total loss to understand what had happened and what was the results. I thought I had gone to sleep and missed the main points. Turns out they were never made and it was a feebe attempt to play with words in an effort to bring praise to the author! I was that little girl who was subjected to corporal punishment but with a family that anything that drew attention was Taboo. He had bamboo canes and belts with different thickness and made you cross your hands the belts were on the wall displayed like trophies.Even in my innocence I knew something was going on between him and the Secretary.

I cannot believe that just because a parent is in an important role in the community her children should be treated differently from other students at her school. In the story, it was never said why she was suspended. I have been teaching subjects in English to Thai students at all levels over the last 17 years. I always treated all the students in my classes the same, yes, some of them did not want to learn English. When questioned about why? First, before the principal found out her parents were big shots , he was very sure his dicision was right, although we were never told WHAT she was suspended for . I feel It was deliberately left out because , If told, we would be livid to think social statis of the parents was the reason? Notice, he only changed his mind when this was brought to light. Secondly, Why didn't either parent answer the calls made to them? What the hell kind of parent wouldn't answer a phone call from the school? Just the same, maybe their child was ill and needed to be picked up from the school . Right? OR should the child have gone home and told the parents she was suspended and gave HER version of it , WHY wouldn't the parents answer then too. Right? Maybe she did something she wasn't telling them? So why wouldn't they even in THIS situation answer the phone calls from the school? Either this is a made up story and Poorly made up at that. Publicity trying to prove how efficiently a school need be run. Lets us face facts, Educators are there to teach scholars who come from all walks of life, in the same manner and respect every scholar even if they have been disobedient, but get the true facts before taking any decision. Sadly Educators invariably haven't any genuine idea as to how the outside world operates, they know their job, Teach Scholars how to deal with subject matters, and leave the rest. THIS IS CRAP 👎👎😡🤐. WHAT DID EMMA DO TO WARRANT A SUSPENSION? Aren't suspensions meant to be a last resort if all other channels to fix an issue / problem have been exhausted & all verbal or written notices have been issued. But you're contradicting yourself because she's supposed to be an exemplary student. Good students don't suddenly go bad all of a sudden without their being a reason - is there something going on in her life maybe at home one doesn't know about, is she looking for attention from her parents, is she a bully? If there was a valid reason for the suspension then the school & board of management should have stood behind the principle & the matter SHOULDN'T have being brought to the media's attention.
