I had a principal notice that I was very skinny back in elementary school. He started giving me free breakfast. I recently thanked him just a month ago. I attended the elementary school 30 years ago and I will never forget it. It meant the world to him and everyone involved that helped me track him down again, to hear a thank you from a student 30+ years ago. I still need to track down some teachers from my middle and high school years, and thank them as well. School was rough for me (undiagnosed autistic until almost 31 years old), but some educators really went the extra mile to help me as much as they could.

The government can't and shouldn't try to meet every need of every citizen. It provides help so people don't starve to death...it can't give everyone a bed or car or a job. Besides that, look how deep the bond is now between him and his students. Look how he has inspired others to give and love as well. People helping people through love and sacrifice is the best and primary way to solve problems, then churches, organizations and companies will come and join willingly. The result is more powerful emotionally and dare I say financially as well. A legacy of hard work and compassion is passed down when we help each other.
