What is the use of capacitor in metal detector . What if we dont use it ? Because if the charges dont oscillate there will be induced current and due to change in magnetic field frequency in inductor will be lower than other inductor and beats will be produced? We can detect metal without capacitor or oscillating of charges then why we use it ?

because we get oscillatory frequency with the help of both capacitor and inductor. .. see topic parallel resonance circuit .

My thinking would be metals are also attracting magnetic fields to some extent so when we bring a metal object some energy stored in inductor also used to attract that metal so thats why inductance decreases
