left out was mention of how Raoult's law governs the composition of vapors from this oil-water binary mixture. viewers who dont know any better will believe the demo shows only water being removed. not true. the oil too exerts a vapor pressure at every torr applied by the pump.. in the real world a tall column performs the necessary 'fractoinal distillation' used to separate the components of a liquid mixture. mr bordman might have referred to these facts. and how , if true, the amount of oil lost by what he did show is minor & acceptable.
