In November 2020, Oregonians voted to pass Measure 110, a ballot initiative that decriminalizes the possession of small amounts of all drugs and increases access to treatment and harm reduction services. Led by the Drug Policy Alliance, the ballot measure is a historic step forward to address racial and health disparities in drug-related arrests. Other states seeking to replicate or adopt similar initiatives are now looking at evaluation efforts of Measure 110.
In this video, Jules Netherland, member of the CHERISH Policy Advisory Board and managing director of the Department of Research and Academic Engagement for the Drug Policy Alliance, and Alex Kral, a distinguished fellow from RTI International, share evaluation principles and metrics that researchers can use to measure the success of the policy.
