Learning to identify birds is not just a matter of memorizing the field marks for each species. Sometimes we can be thrown off by an odd bird, even if we know what it is "supposed to" look like. In this talk, Kenn will discuss some general principles that apply to recognizing all birds, and a few common pitfalls that we can learn to avoid.
Kenn Kaufman is a freelance writer, artist, and naturalist. Most of his energy currently goes into book projects and painting bird portraits. He has written a dozen books, including his own field guide series, Kaufman Field Guides, and his most recent title 'A Season on the Wind'.
