the only thing he fails to mention is that not everyone (depending on both skill and background) can come back from failure. Say you have a stable job and family, you then set an audacious goal at which you fail, but in the process you lose your house, wife, kids and spend 10 years repaying debt. The chances of you "recovering" from that are very slim. It's easy for him to say as on Wall Street cash has been abundant due to government policies so when he failed he had no issue starting over again. More than 30 years ago, I worked under a person who I still consider to be a *_textbook classic example_* of Bad Management. I've never forgotten the experience, simply because I was right about him. However, what was equally alarming was that those above him never noticed the problem until I alerted them, even though they had worked with him for years and I'd been there only a matter of months. And, even after alerting them to the problem, most still didn't notice. Clearly, I deduced, these people are _not_ businesspeople. Overall, what this experience taught me was that I was *_not_* cut-out to be a worker or _employee_ - I was more suited to a management or oversight role, even though that may sound immodest of me. But, how does a young person at the _very, very beginning_ of their career get a role in management? Best way? By starting your own business. Which is what I did. Never looked back.

The secret formula is not hard people! Invest consistently in to great ETFs with low fees and stop buying the hype surrounding individual stocks. Long term if you want to build real wealth, it is boring but it works. That's how I earned 6 figures in 2021 passively purely from index funds. Good luck guys!

Buy a good cross section of an economy and you should do well over the long term. The market wil be high in 10 to 20 years, and significantly higher in 30. It's almost impossible for a company with no debt to go bankrupt. the U.S. is about 50% of the global market place, Pay yourself first. It's time in the market, not timing the market. last year I invested 100 grand in the S&P 500/ an allocation fund (with the help of my Financial Advisor Rita Lynn Evans of course) and made 370k, but guess what? I put it back and traded with her again and now I’m rounding up close to a million.

Instead, a machine will make decisions for you. Yes by all means let a machine think and speak for you. But when the crap hits the fan and all goes wrong, you can avoid taking responsibility for anything, by blaming the same machine. Machines will take over after a period of time. How bad do you want that?

Excellent advisory, since I got to understand how trading works better. I follow these general simply rules and this has worked amazing for me. Diversify, dollar or pounds cost averaging investing method, portfolio re-balance every quarter and I’ve found a mix of managed and index funds has worked out the best for me.

@Kimothy Olsen about 78% of my portfolio is in passive index funds and ETFs. I’ve an account manager with a taxable brokerage that I invest in stocks and commodities. It’s comfortable for me this way, I made another purchase in September. We’ll see how it does over time I feel like even if 20% of my portfolio underperforms, I’ll still generate income from other spreads. Better than spending my money on an expensive car or vacation lol.

I think this whole thing did more harm to the small guy then the one fund that was shorting from the lows.
