Hello all, please know we rent the church from an Episcopalian church. The decorations are their doing and we cannot take it down. I hope your hearts can focus on the message rather than such a small side issue. Thanks and God bless

Why Adventist Celebrate Christmas? When it’s a PAGAN Holiday!! Even Putting Up a Tree
@LinsMusicMinistries5 ай бұрын
Well I’m probably not the right person to answer, but let me try to give my input. Yes, the Christmas Celebration is originated with Pagans. The idea of celebrating Birth in general is Pagan. There are many other celebrations like Easter and so much more based on your culture. Now, as Christians should we celebrate those or not. I don’t think it’s mandatory, each is free to choose. If one doesn’t, it isn’t a sin. And if one does, as long as he does not do it with the same mindset as the Pagan, it isn’t a sin either. I didn’t see it like this before, but after really thinking about it, I don’t see anything wrong with Celebrating Christmas, or Birthdays, or Easter, or a National Flag day (though they are all originated with pagans) if they are celebrated with the right mind. Now, I think Christmas shouldn’t be about Santa and Grinch, but about Jesus. Birthday celebrations shouldn’t be to glorify the person, but the God who gave and maintained his life. Easter not about Egg and Bunny, but about the resurrection of Christ. National flag day not about human pride, but gratitude for the privilege of freedom… and so on. Jesus celebrated Jewish feasts. Paul did the same even after the death of Jesus. Now, it was a way to win the Jews. Same for us, let us use every opportunity to win hearts for Christs while at the same time upholding strong boundaries lest we are won by the world. Let me know what you think.!!

And really, we'll realize that even in the spirit of prophecy, there are several places where Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and Birthdays are spoken about; but now of them condemns the event specified. What has been condemned several times is indulgence in pleasures and amusements that do not glorify and God and leading to idolizing the day, or the person celebrated at the expense of God for which all days are to be celebrated. Romans 14:5 & 6 talks of esteeming a day as more appropriate for fasting. If one honors the Lord on that day, it's okay. If one honors not due to conscience issues, then no one should judge those who do otherwise, so long as they don't contradict any Bible principle.

Sis, many don't fully understand and or can comprehend how paganistic practices and Idolising of demi gods has crept into the church in its various forms- so, let's continue to pray for the church- may those who are in darkness be enlightened and the Spirit of Truth, reveal to those who are unaware- may the Lord continue to open their eyes and hearts to a deeper truth. Stay in the Word, SOP and on your knees, darling and keep the brothers and sisters before the mercy seat of God. He alone, can turn the hearts and minds of men. We pray for extended mercies and grace- SO PRAY ON, SIS as an Intercessor for Zion. God bless & keep you in 2024 and beyond! Be encouraged and deeply blessed

The presence of a Christmas tree in the church clearly indicates that "the SDA Church is recognising the day," right?
