+DNA México, he's not a thief, read the description and you'll clearly see that he references his work (Disney's Illusion of life , Animator's Survival kit , Aaron Blaise ,Alan Becker, Drawn to life 1&2 -Walt stanchfield). He doesn't take credit for these.

I see this a happen a lot. This is well crafted video--professional and clear in the aspect of detailing strong shape language in design (for animation). However this definition is not "Appeal" as a Principle of Animation. This is more about how "Appeal" ties into Character Design on its own. That is not the be-all-end all of Appeal as an ANIMATION principle. Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson crafted these principles after years of work at the Disney Studio and "released" the information to the greater public in 1981 with their book The Illusion of Life. While design CERTAINTLY can play a huge part in Appeal, it's more about the Combination of all the Other Principles, mixed with "something extra" that creates a likable, believable character performance. Appeal is entirely subjective-- so a general "appeal" for one country might not have the same for another-- Unless we also want to speak on the homogenizing effects of the Entertainment Industry. Bill Plympton's films and animation has appeal, and that is very different from say Sylvain Chomet, Disney films, or Ghibli films.
