Please help substance,domestic and export or surplus are level of production. The types of production are primary secondary and tertiary. So what is capital intense and labour intense? I have a hand out from my teacher and it has for the heading types of production so I'm confused.

Capital intensive means that the labor being done is mostly powered by money, like the farming industry, you could have lots of farmers or to save more money in the long run you can replace workers with tractors, so it’s just labor that is done mostly by machines. And labor intensive is depending more on manpower to get the labour done, so like in a factory you have things made by hand and assembled by hand instead of using machinery, and labour intensive is more expensive in the long run because of vacation days, sick days, incentives, bonus salaries and those things that you would only have to spend on humans.

You have your forward linkage and your backward linkage. You have your primary, secondary and tertiary production. A linkage is where a business "links" with two different types of production. Let's say you are a farmer who grows and sells tomatoes. You can create a forward link with a company that makes tomato sauce or sign a contract with a supermarket to supply tomatoes. Companies that makes sauces can also create a backwards link with farmers who grow tomatoes. Hope that helps
