For them, you see, it’s never enough....it’s never, EVER going to be enough. It all seemed like a good idea at the time, but of course, Trump was such a massive embarrassment that they couldn’t get him out of The Oval soon enough. A good-lookin' hard working, determined handsome man, George Jasous had also played football with the "Jets." He used to take me to night clubs and listen to me sing, and our debate would always ensue over and over. @@antediluvianclockwork9769 I think he was joking, but the principle is correct. The knowledge exist and two people set out to gain said knowledge. The first decides to take the most direct and sure path by spending tens of thousands of dollars and many years to gain access. When complete they gain the knowledge with a certificate stating that said knowledge exist in their minds without any testimony as to the true grasp they have of it. The other decides they will go about gaining that knowledge through direct interactions and personal research on the foundations and principles of the knowledge. A harder and overall less traveled course, but given dedication the benefit is gaining the knowledge without the burden of debt and in a time frame entirely dependent on the individual's dedication. In business the dedicated individual with the ability to see and seize decisive opportunities and advantages will thrive while the other will fail. There is a reason the MBA has been voted the most useless degree for decades all across the world. It's basically a degree proving you are unable to function in the market you were trained to work in. This poor lady got suckered =(

I kind of doubt Ray Dalio's analysis, as it does not seem to take demographics or nuclear weapons into account. In 100 years from now, sure, USA will be replaced by a different dominant power. But that will take a long time.

He is in the same academic group with me. I also studied history to predict the future in macroeconomic field. But there's more in this video. The challenging power may not succeed. Like Spain in 16th and more recently, Japan in 80s. There are still A lot possibility that a simplified model does not give you a better interpretation for now.

I do largely agree with Ray Dalio but I just dont see China being a true super power with the current power structure of China. As other countries will not like to be dictated by an economic system knowing that just one person, the president of CCP controls everything. My other issue with this video & Ray's work on this topic is that there are no concrete points on what an average citizen should do when the global order does change. Like when Yuan does become the reserve currency what should we do , how will life in the US change ? I understand how Ray is looking at the past to look at the future but to assume things will largely repeat is a wrong assumption. Though i do also feel that its going to be similar. But there are a few major things like how CCP has through authoritarian means crushed the population growth thus that will make it very difficult for China to economically grow. Also through global immigration ( I being an immigrant to the US myself) i see US still competing with China for a long time. Third is the assumption that China's leaders cant make disastrous mistakes. Power corrupts people and makes them blind to basic facts. With Xi xing ping I can see that happening. With the US ; bad decisions can be changed with change of power . But the CCP its difficult, as the CCP will need to take blame as an institution and cant just blame the previous administration. My last point is that maybe US loosing its no 1 super power status is not a very bad thing. If we look at Germany, UK & other countries there are doing better than the US on many social indicators.
