Vision Miner are the goats of the actual 3D printing scene, theyve made a printer that is actually needed in the sense that the pritner opens new real posibilities (specs are high end), and capable enough to outstand cheaper printers, but not expensive as hell as the industrial ones. And the best part, they made it upgradable and you could even modify some thing on it. You could print endless things on it, some high performance polymers are stronger than Aluminum, a plastic, stronger than a metal, that always blows my mind Theyve understood it all

Vision miner is such a cool company. Years ago when their nano polymer bed adhesive was shown off by Joel I ordered a sample and instantly fell in love. So I ordered a large bottle but was curious if maybe there was a coupon or something for viewers so I reached out to them on Facebook at like 2am CST. I didn't really expect a reply but within minutes I got a reply with a personalized coupon code and a slightly sarcastic response. Ever since then I have used nothing but that bottle I ordered. Its been years and that one bottle is still going. It's almost out but I'm happy to order more. Anyways what was this video about?

We do, in fact, use all genuine Duet boards in the machine :) While it is open-source, and using the cheaper clones would make sense, the stability and quality just isn't there, which is why we opted for genuine boards. Also the origin of manufacturing is in the UK, which allows more government, DoD and Military customers to use it.

I have seen a previous review of this machine and it runs on the same hardware as lets say a Voron or standard Cor XY machine. @@AndrewduToit These machines are great, but they are not really comparable to this printer and the usage scenarios are also very different. This printer has a heat bed that is rated up to 200°C, can reach 500°C at the nozzle and the build chamber can be heated up to 110°C. The printer is for high temp materials that the printer you have listed cannot print. Even the models with an active build chamber heater. The printer is not for the hobby user but for the industry and the military.
@AndrewduToit

@@AndrewduToit You'd be surprised how much the high-temperature stuff costs. It's easy to underestimate. Let me give you an example. The Prusa Pro HT90 is another printer in the same price range. It has, for example, panels for the casing that not only withstand the extreme heat inside but also have an insulating effect so that you can touch the printer even while the print chamber is heated to 90°C. Someone estimated the BOM for the entire printer at $1000. Josef Prusa replied that the panels and insulation alone cost more. This high temperature stuff is extremely expensive. Then there are the certifications and all the support from Vision Miner. The fact that the printer is produced in low-volume production doesn't really help to reduce the costs either.
